WW Weekly Weigh In--- Part 2

Have to leave enough points for a turkey sandwich in the evening!

sounds yummy just thinking about it!!

Grumpy's wife, tiggerlover, Nancyg56 way to go:cool1:

Ok, I weighed tonight and really was dreading it. I feel bloated and just plain uck tonight with headache, etc... but I went anyway----glad I did because I finally got my keychain for 10% goal. Down 1lb tonight but I'll take it!! Now just to keep myself out of the kitchen, I'm wanting comfort foods today!!

What a great week you had after all!

I have to share a little woo hoo moment for myself today. After falling off the wagon so much lately I was determined that today was going to be an OP day. Unfortuneately there was cheesecake at the office today and my piece was wrapped and put on a plate in the fridge for me. All day long that cheesecake was calling my name, every time I walked through the kitchen I heard it loud and clear. I tried offering it to a co-worker to no avail, so finally I took the big, yummy piece of cheesecake and dumped it in the trash! Sure did silence that piece of cake. I have been totally OP today, one day down......

That would definitely be a hard one for me to do. Cheesecake is my all time favorite food. You did great by tossing that piece of temptation in the trash.

Have to leave enough points for a turkey sandwich in the evening!

I'll second that. Nothing beats a leftover turkey sandwich on Thanksgiving night.

:woohoo: Congratulations! That is a great accomplishment and you should be proud of yourself.

I never really thought about fall being a tough time to stay on program, but temptations are all around us lately. I need to make some soup or chili to help. I have not done as well as the rest of you. Saturday about 25 of us from work get dressed up in old fashioned pink dresses and walk around salem, ma and raise money for breast cancer. We stop for lunch, and I ate way too much. Then last night I had some friends over, and we were going to order out, but on girl brought sandwich fixings from this awesome store and I again way over did it. Not to mention a couple pina coladas. :guilty: Today is a new day, and I'm back on program, and plan to stick with my daily points for the next 3 days before weighin.

Tiggerlover- I love cheesecake, and that's what we had for dessert on saturday and I, unlike you, ate the whole thing. Good for you for throwing it away. That's a hard thing to do. I hate that something inside my head still hates to waste food. I have a family party sat night, and I am going to stay in control. I think I'll bring a ww dessert to have a little treat. I'll think of you and your cheesecake in the trash as inspiration.

Pei4ever - Whoo hoo!!!! :cool1: Congrats on your 10%!!! That is awesome!!

Grumpy's Wife- Good for you for staying on program at your party. It is so hard to stick to it sometimes when everyone else is eating and drinking in front of you. You should be proud. I'll be thinking of you at my party sat too.

Nancyg56- Congrats on your loss. It's great to see a little loss after a bad week to give you the motivation to get back on and stay on.

estherhead- Turkey dinner is so good. Sounds like you did well, and a little cake won't hurt you. Good for you. I love to have a cup of tea at night to ward off the hungry horrors. My favorites are by bigelow the spiced chai, and the tea flavored with oranges and sweet spice. I been liking milk in my tea lately, but used to love the raspberry tea by celestial seasonings.

At my meeting last week, they were talking about if you craved sweets at night that you should eat 3 servings of fruit every day before 1 pm and the natural sugars would help diminish the cravings. I'm going to try that today, so I don't eat through the biggest loser tonight.

Have a great day.

Hi Everyone,
Today is weigh in day for me and I lost 1.4lbs. I should be happy but I worked out everyday and stayed within my points so I was hoping for more. I'm glad I found this board because reading everyone's posts inspires me to keep going. I know slow and steady wins the race but it's hard to remember sometimes.

 susieb16:hug: I understand how you feel but it is true slow and steady wins and also will help keep it off. 1.4lbs is awesome....you know muscle will weigh more than fat and definately looks better:lmao: keep up the hard work and it will payoff!

Nancy, great idea on sharing recipes. MaryAnne, dessert is the hard part for me too, here is a recipe for some pumpkin bars my leader gave me last year, they are delicious and something I plan on making this year once again.

Praline Pumpkin Cake Bars

Cooking spray
15 oz. can pumpkin
12 oz. fat-free evaporated milk
¼ cup Egg Beaters
½ cup sugar
4 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
18-¼ oz. unprepared white cake mix (1 pkg.)
½ cup pecan halves, chopped
¼ cup reduced-calorie margarine, melted

Preheat oven to 350°.

Coat bottom and sides of a 13x9x2" baking pan with cooking spray.

Stir pumpkin, milk, Egg Beaters, sugar and pumpkin pie spice together in a medium bowl until smooth; pour into pan. Sprinkle dry cake mix over pumpkin mixture and gently press it into pumpkin mixture to moisten. Sprinkle cake with pecans and then drizzle margarine evenly over the top.

Bake uncovered, until knife inserted in center of cake comes out clean, about 50-60 minutes. Cool completely before slicing into 16 pieces.

Yields: 16 Servings

Time to make: Cook time: 60 minutes

5 POINTS per serving.

Pei4ever, congratulations on reaching your 10% goal, that is a wonderful feel. Enjoy your accomplishment, you have worked hard to get there.:cheer2:

Kathy, good luck with your party this weekend, those social gatherings are always hard to handle. Stay focused and you can succeed! You will have to let us know how the fruit theory works out, I am curious.

susieb16, congratulations on your loss this week. Although it isn't the number you were hoping for it was still a decent loss. You said you worked out and stayed within your points, did you eat any of your flex points or any of your exercise points?

Nancy, congrats to you and to your DD on your losses this week.:woohoo:

Onward and downward!

Hi Susie!

I know that hearing all of those fantastic loses that some talk about at meetings might make yours seem like such a small step but look around and see how many people do not share. That is because most will not share a gain or if they maintain. It is a shame really, how nice it would be if everyone was comfortable sharing so that we all can see that losing weight is not all leaps and bounds, it is more slow ans steady, the way you and I are going.

You are exercising and as others have said, muscle weighs more than fat, muscle retains water at first and muscle looks and feels way better! You are dong great!

hi everyone
I am happy to report a loss this week of 1.8 :woohoo:
Had a pretty good week ~ no major challenges, thank God!!! I feel like I'm back in the swing of things after struggling off and on for too many weeks.

disneyismyname ~ don't worry about the diet Mt Dew....a little splurge like that won't derail you! That's what WW is all about....allowing yourself to have the things you want, in moderation! :goodvibes

Grumpy's Wife ~ way to go on the tailgate party!! I don't think I could have done as well! :worship:

tiggerlover ~ way to go to you too!! What a great feeling that must have been to throw that cheesecake in the trash instead of eating it! I have a hrd time throwing food away because I hate to see waste, but I am learning that it is better to just remove the temptation all together. :thumbsup2

estherhead ~ You'll be okay ~ turkey dinner isn't all that bad you know? And a little of that pie is better than all of it right? ;)

Nancyg56 ~ congrats on your loss after a hard week! Better than a gain! :upsidedow I'd love some recipes...I really don't care for cooking but find it a necessary evil:laughing: I'm not hosting Thanksgiving this year, but would like to bring something WW friendly to MIL's to share. Congrats to your DD too :cool1:

Pei4ever ~ :dance3: :woohoo: :cool1: :thumbsup2 great job on reaching your 10%!!! You should be so proud of yourself!

mikamah ~ soups are what really get me through this time of year. I have Progresso 0 point soups on hand, but I prefer not to use those so much. Anytime I eat soup from a can (or anything canned really) I retain water like crazy from the sodium. I've been trying to keep a homemade vegetable soup on hand as much as possible (the one from WW book) Good luck at your WI this week!

susieb16 ~ congrats on your loss:goodvibes 1.4 is a good loss. Everyone loses at a different rate and the others are right about slow and steady is the way to keep it off. I remember being very dissapointed several weeks in a row when my loss wasn't as high as I had hoped, but every loss is good because it's better than a gain ;) Have you been using your flex points? Using all your daily points each day. I find that my weight loss picks up when I make sure I get all my points in for the day and use most, if not all of my flex points during the week.

I apolgize if I missed anyone ~ I really should post more often so I can keep up!

cepmom- congratulations!! 1.8 is awesome and it is such a good feeling when you are back on track.

tiggerlover- Those pumpkin bars sound delicious. I'll have to try them.

susieb16- Congats on your loss!! I totally agree with what the others have said, and slow and steady is definitely the way to go for permanent weight loss. I'm a very slow loser, even when I stick with the program, and am always thrilled if I see over 1 pound. Keep up the good work.

I'm going to try and check in here daily to help keep me on track. Everyone here is so inspiring. Thanks.

What a fun way to spend a day with friends. Even though you ate a little more than allowed you were out for a great cause. Good luck getting back on program. Let us know if the fruit experiment works. You know every time I see your user name I automatically think "milkman". I know that's not what it says but in my mind that's what I see.

1.4 pounds is a great loss. I know what you mean though about stepping up the exercise and wanting to see more. Maybe it will kick in and you'll see what you want on the scales next week. You're doing great.

You had a great week. I love when I have a normal week with no
unexpected challenges too.

tiggerlover thanks for the new recipe.

My meeting is today at noon so I'll report back later today. Have a great on program day.

ETA~I'm back and I'm down 1.6 this week. That puts me right at the 30 pound mark.

I did really good this week and only lost a POUND!:confused3 I drank lots of water and walked 2 miles everyday! I'm so mad!

On the plus side:goodvibes my pants do fit better and I'm not bloated!:lmao: So I'm hoping I lost more inches then....

Good luck to everyone else!;)

Hey everyone!

It's so nice to *hear* that everyone seems to be doing well. Sounds like everyone seems to be kicking butt and taking names! Keep up the awesome work and don't get down if you aren't losing what you hoped you would... the point is you are losing and headed towards a healthier way of life!

I'm happy to say that I had an OP day yesterday and it looks like I'll have another one today. which is good b/c I was not kind to myself this weekend. :scared: I actually did better than expected at the camping trip... I just didn't account for all the food at the party celebrating my niece and nephew's baptism on Sunday. whoops. And Monday I actually bypassed the 0 on the 0-5 hunger/comfort scale. I was pretty mad I let myself get that hungry... stupid mistake and it look awhile before I felt ok again. But on the plus side when I got a chance to eat, I ate very healthy food and didn't grab the first thing I saw so I felt better. I also didn't gorge myself. So there's a silver lining, right!?!

Keep those recipes coming. I have one to share but it was given to me by a non WW person, so I want to figure out points first. Hopefully I'll have it up by tomorrow. :rolleyes1

Have a good night and a good tomorrow!

Rachel

grumpys wife and disneyismyname way to go:cheer2:

I'm enjoying hearing from everyone and also getting all these great sounding recipes--keep up the good work ladies!

cepmom, nice loss! :woohoo: I have a hard time throwing things out too, I was raised not to waste, but I have learned sometimes I have to so that I can protect me.

Mik, I don't think you will be disappointed if you try the bars, my only problem is eating just one. ;)

:thumbsup2 Grumpy's Wife, congrats on your loss.

disneyismyname, a pound is a pound, so CELEBRATE!!!

Weighed in this morning - down a pound this week - 5.5 pounds in four weeks. Received my first gold star.

I keep telling myself - Slow & Steady Wins the Race!

Down .8 lbs this week. I'm pretty happy with it, all things considered. Mtg. was on emotional eating, which had some nice reminders.

antmaril, estherhead congratulations on the weight loss:cheer2:
I am a real big emotional eater and it is really difficult for me to channel that energy into something else other than food when I am on an emotional rollercoaster....

Hello all!

Congrats to all our losers and big hugs to those who are having a hard time.

I was down 1.8 lbs today. I have now lost 20% of my body weight.
