Hi: I would like to join the rest of you because I need to lose some major weight and I just can't get motivated. I'm been reading these boards and I feel with your help and support, I can do it. I went to curves to check it out and I am going to join. Hopefully, this week. I'm battling a sinus infection right now, but hope by the end of the week to join. Also, if any of you have joined WW online, I was wondering what you thought of it. It's impossible for me to make meetings because of my work schedule, so I wondered if you felt it was worth it to join on line. I look forward to becoming part of your group, because you all seem so supportive and that's what I need.

I don't know about WW on line, so I can't help with your question, but I just wanted to welcome you to WISH! I am new myself, having just joined WW and posting to WISH for the first time yesterday! I can tell you that you are in the right place! This is a very caring, helping group of people! Welcome aboard!

Anyone else know about WW online?

Welcome!! You are going to love it here. This really helps motivate me, and I'm sure it will do the same for you.:D

Funny you posted this because I was also going to post this question and just haven't gotten to it yet. I'm interested in any comments also of the online program!

Ooh, ooh! I can answer this one! LOL

First of all, Tigger7570, welcome! :teeth:

Now for the WW Online question. I did it for 3 months last year. Joining gives you access to some really cool tools like an online points calculator, activity point calculator, weight tracking chart, an online journal, and my favorite -- a recipe calculator that lets you enter ingredients and determine the points of any recipe. :) You also get weekly topics that take you step-by-step through the weight loss process.

You don't need to be a paying member for access to most of the recipes, message boards, success stories, etc.

I didn't renew my subscription mostly because I found I prefer to journal in a notebook so I have immediate access to all my info, rather than having to turn on the computer, log in and look up a journal. There are also occasional computer glitches that make the journal software go down.

Also, I'm using the old 123 Success as opposed to the Winning Points, where the allowed points are slightly higher, and the computer would automatically put me in the negative if I went over the Winning Points number.

I still visit the message boards from time to time, but I've honestly found WISH to be a lot more motivational to me, and so much cheaper! LOL

Hope this helps a little -- YMMV of course! :)

I was a subscriber to WW online for 2 years and I gained 5 pounds!

For me it wasn't enough support or accountability, so I am now a real life ww member and I subscribe to e-tools, which is WW online, but cheaper, and with different colors, but the same tools as WW online.

If you can be accountable to yourself and are REALLY self motivated, it's great. But if you can easily get side tracked and lose focus and think "Oh, I'll get back to that when I'm not as busy" as I did, I would suggest the meetings. Online provides the tools. The meetings provide motivation, support and accountability.

Hi Tigger7570 and welcome! :p I joined WW online last week and have found it so easy to use. The online journaling has made the difference for me this time. I have pretty much constant access to a computer all day so anytime I need to look something up or make a journal entry, I do it immediately, therefore I'm being totally accurate in keeping track. I lost 7lbs this first weigh in, and have high hope that it will work for me.

I hope whatever you choose, works for you too!

I do both. I like to do my journaling on-line..but I need the support of the weekly weigh-ins and meetings. I need the extra support and encouragement. I have been on WW for a little over 4 weeks and I have lost almost 15 pounds. (14.6 to be exact) This is the longest I have ever stayed on a diet and I find it very easy to do. I still eat pizza and go to McDonalds...I love that I can eat a lot of food and still stay in my point range.

Hi Everyone: Thank you for the warm welcome and the replies. I'm looking forward to being part of WISH and can see that you all give support and encouragement and that's what I need. I'm looking forward to getting started. Once again, thanks for welcoming me.
