I'm getting ready to go grocery shopping and I'm ready to start eating right. I'm doing the WW points system (I have all of my stuff from a few years ago). However, I tend to get stuck in a rut when it comes to meals.

For those of you on WW, what is on your regular grocery list?

Mine are:

FF pita bread
fat free dressing
lots of lettuce
fresh veggies (carrots, celery, cucumber, tomatoes)
oranges and apples
low point soups (Progresso Southwestern Chicken is my fav)
rotisserie chicken
eggs (morning protein with fruit)
pretzels
salsa
bagels
Lowfat cream cheese

My WW staples:

spinach in a bag (or sometimes I'll get romaine lettuce)
La Tortilla low carb/low fat whole wheat tortillas
Western Bagel Sweet Wheat bagels (1 pt)
Fresh fruit (strawberries, pink lady or fuji apples, nectarines, pears, grapes)
Fresh veggies
Fat free dressing
eggs
Just Shrimp from Trader Joes (precooked shrimp that I add to salads)
Just Chicken from Trader Joes
Dannon carb control yogurt packs
Knudsen fat free cottage cheese
Fish
Diet Brisk tea (I limit myself to 1 a day)
Smart Ones Truth About Carb meals (sometimes I eat these with a salad)
Sugar Free jello

The snacks that I occasionally get:
Pria bars (not the low carb ones though) 2 pts
Klondike bars (the skinny bear ones or whatever they're called) 2 pts
Oreo thin crisps - 2 pts

(Rae Ann - How are the Pria bars? I just saw a variety pack of 24 bars at Sam's club for $13 and was tempted to pick them up when I saw they were only 2 points, but didn't because I wasn't sure if I'd like them...)

Here's what I normally get...

bagged salad or baby spinach
cucumbers, carrots, grape tomotoes, roma tomatoes, scallions, mushrooms, broccoli, green beans
garlic
RF Tortillas, RF Pitas
FF cheddar and FF feta
98% FF boneless/skinless chicken breasts
FF Refried beans (for wrapping in tortilla with cheddar for a quick burrito in the microwave)
Canned black beans (for making Mexican Bean and Tortilla Pie... my boyfriend loves this and has no idea it's "diet food")
10 minute brown rice
FF sour cream
FF cottage cheese
1% milk (same points as skim but more satisfying because of the fat)
egg substitute and 1/2 doz eggs
FF reduced sodium Chicken broth
Special K Red Berries or Kashi Good Friends (depending on what's on sale and/or I have a coupon for)
Smart Ones (... for when I don't have leftovers to bring for lunch... I really like the Chicken Marsala for 3 points and the Creamy Parmesean Chicken for 4 points)
Sugar Free Popsicles (zero points!!)
Wow Chips or Soy Crisps and popcorn for air popping for snacks.

I like to make the Mexican Bean and Totilla Pie on Friday evenings and have Corona Light (2 points) for a Mexican themed evening. I use the pitas to make individual "pizzas": I slice the roma tomatoes and layer them on top of the pita, then sprinkle with feta cheese and top with mushrooms and garlic and pop it in the oven for a few minutes. I think it turns out to be about 5 points and it's really yummy... :) I'll usually whip up something with the rice and chicken broth and chicken... I like to wing it with my spices etc so I get something a bit different every time. Oh, and I love to make frittatas with a combo of the eggs, egg substitue and lots of veggies. Comes out to such a nice light dinner!

I think the most important thing to keep yourself sticking to the plan is to not get bored with your food... I subscribe to Cooking Light and when I get the magazine every month, I'll go through and write the points next to any recipe that looks interesting. Then, once a week, I'll try something new out of it. Keeps dinner interesting and I've found a few new favorites by doing this! :)

There's some great ideas here. I just started WW this week, and there are a few things on these lists that I hadn't thought of. :)

Just make sure to measure your foods. WW has a good listing of how to judge portion sizes. Book #2 has pictures of common items of today that you use for comparing. Remember when they used to say use your fist? That doesn't help is you're a guy or a larger boned female. The chart is much better.

By the way, new program materials coming the week of 8/22. Hopefully there will be new recipes as well.

Personally, I like to make oatmeal from scratch in the microwave. I sweeten it with surgar free maple syrup and a little Splenda. It stays with you longer than bran flakes and milk. I'm taking some WW bars with me and Smoothie packets as well. That way I can make sure to get my milks in every day. That's the one area where I tend to skimp as most of us do because we hate taking the 2 point hit for each milk serving whether in the form of yogurt or otherwise.

also seen on CookieGVB's list . . .

FF pudding
FF cool-whip

Kudo's bars (2 pts!)
I also pick up canned pumpkin and make that WW recipe
