Today the DVC WV pin arrived.
I looked at the map of the resort later in my membership book and began to wonder about their transportation system. I see a boat dock -- where do the boats go and what type of boats are they?
Are they wheelchair accessible?

The boats at boardwalk are accessible but some of the others around WDW are not.We don't have any plans to stay there yet - but I like to think ahead!

Linda DVC,
The boats at WLV go to the Magic Kingdom and yes they are wheelchair accessable. They have bussess going to all other locations. They do have boats that go to the contemporary and fort wilderness but I dont believe they are accessable. You could do a transfer if you wanted but I dont think you could get on under wheelchair conditions. If you want to go to the contemp you can get on the boat for Magic Kingdom and then jump on the monorail too. I think the transportation system at WLV is just as adaquate as any other resort on property. A little better in my opinion cause you dont have to make 5 or 6 internal stops before leaving the grounds. Hope this helps.

While the boats may normally be accessible, currently there is a warning sign on the WL dock stating that due to the low water levels of Bay Lake, the boats are unable to accommodate wheelchairs.
Guests now have to take a bus to TTC (or just to a monorail resort) to gain MK access.

The larger boat that generally travels from the WL to the MK is able to handle wheelchairs if the water is not too low. The smaller boats that travel the WL, Contemp & FW route can not handle wheelchairs. You have to step down 1 or 2 steps to get onboard those.
