I think everyone can relate to being in a relationship with someone that was crazy/jerk at one point in their life. The usually rule is no matter how long you were in a relationship for, it takes twice as long to get over the person. That's great that your ex has moved on (which that's what you wanted) and wanted to make a mends and let you know that he was sorry for his previous actions. I'm not saying to call him and be freinds...but at least it's nice to knwo that he's no longer hold a grudge against you.

So, the guy who beat you up and threatened to kill you called your mother - after SEVEN years - to say he wasn't mad at you? Big of him.

Oh i KNOW! I almost died right there, when she told me that. My favorite part was that he told her "things just didn't work out, FOR WHATEVER REASON."

Whatever reason? It was the constant verbal and emotional abuse (among his lesser assaults ladies...he called me FAT), the nights out till 2am with no call or explanation, the death threat. FWIW he never laid a hand on me. Lucky for him because I could easily have taken him ..I had heard he told his family and friends that he left me and had taken out a restraining order against me. Ok guy, if that's what gets you through the night.

My DH, light of my life, was pretty surprised about the call. He offered to stay home from his conference in FL this week. What a guy! I'm cool though. I got Milhouse the wonder-mutt to guard me against intruders. Oh, and our greyhound. I suppose any would-be assailant would run the risk of TRIPPING OVER her lazy butt in an attempt to get to me.
