This is my upcoming project. We owned a business many years ago but I wasn't the one that wrote up the plan, my FIL did but he has since passed.

I'm thinking once we get settled in Florida I'm going to start up a small business so I want to start getting my ducks in a row and keep doing on my research so I can start preparing my plan.

I already pretty much have it all figured out but I need to figure out the whole layout and required info needed to put it all together. Are there any good books or anything out there that would help guide me? After I get settled and actually ready to get going I'll meet with someone from SCORE and contact the SBA as well but I'd like to start now on my own so by that time I can just fine tune things.

Thoughts?

Cool! What kind of business is it?

My friend wrote a business plan for the tiny company she once worked for -and alwys joked that it was impossible to succeed on paper-in the small town they were in . The owner had another job and continually pumped money into the Biz...until it folded

Good Luck

Here is the SBA's online course on writing a business plan. Their website has a terrific amount of information and offers some great guidance.

I saw that and intend to go through it. They are a great source of info but I'm looking for a book book type of thing that I could just refer to when I need to or take it with me. I love doing everything online but sometimes I just need that "feel". Know what I mean.
Or maybe an outline thing I could print and refer back to.
