To answer your question, every board is allowed to have one thread dedicated to WPASADI, so we will keep you updated on this thread either posting links to our challenges or announcing any new information.

Right now, we don't have much info to give you... but I'm guessing more details will be out tomorrow when the competition officially starts.

Our first challenge is assigned to us tomorrow! Woot!

qruthie - I'm not sure I should admit this....but I think we have the same sense of humor Everytime I see a post of King's, I get distracted by that signature of his. I'll actually sit here mesmorized by that penguin pic, watching it over and over and over... I find it hilarious! Now is that a *real* penguin doing the slapping? That's what I want to know...

I have bad news to share. The WPASADI competition is now being delayed until December 4 or 5, rather than starting tomorrow. I was SO pysched to receive our first challenge, now we have to wait....

This competition will run a little differently than in the past. It will run for 12 weeks total = 1 challenge each week. There will be no "voting off" of team members this time around. Instead, 4 entire teams will be eliminated after each challenge for the first 6 weeks, for a total of 24 teams *poof* gone by the halfway point (we start with 29 teams). The last 6 weeks of the competition will be individual challenges. Those remaining 5 teams that made it this far (woot!) will now break apart into 40 individuals (or less if some quit by this point) and it will be "every man for himself" for the remaining challenges, with eliminations each week (not sure how many will be eliminated each week) until there is one lone WPASADI member still standing as grand prize winner!

Yes it's entertaining to watch an innocent penguin victimized repeatedly, isn't it? We are a sad, sad bunch!! I had always thought just the extra long arm/flipper was fake, but now I believe the whole slappin' penguin is drawn/animated, because the shading is off. He has too much sun on his belly compared to all his flock (if that's what penguins call their friends and family). But you people are the artists, I keep thinking Wopatooey when I see WPASADI ! It's been a LONG time since that word has entered my mind!

There's a Monty Python episode where two old ladies are sitting on a couch looking at their telly. There is a penguin on top of it. Their conversation goes something like:
"What's that on the telly?"
"It's a penguin."
"What's it doing there?
"Standing."
"How did it get there?"
"It is probably from the zoo."

Eventually the penguin blows up.

Hard core Python fans can quote the scene word for word. I haven't seen it in a while so I'm quite certain my quotes are off.

But back to the important subject, I'm sorry the contest has been delayed. I'm not doing the math but I guess the contest runs beyond the second week of January. That means I will be needing to take a short break from my cheer leading duties. My daughter and I just booked a mother/daughter vacation at WDW for January 7th through January 13th! Woot! She chose the All-Star Movies resort which will be a new resort for us!
