I just got off the phone with Disney Dining (making PS rezzies for our trip in January) well I decided to book the Sweetheart Dinner for 2 at the Blue Bayou and holy moly is it pricey $150:faint: for the two of us. Now granted it is a special occasion we are celebrating our 1 year anniversary a few weeks early, this is monumentous since we haven't killed eachother yet :rotfl2: so deserves celebrating.

I asked the CM what all is included in the dinner and they didn't really know anything more than the website so here is what it is:

A meticulously prepared three-course Prix Fixe meal begins with a shared appetizer, continues with a signature entrée, and finishes with a decadent celebratory dessert, served with flair. A souvenir toasting glass is yours to keep in commemoration of the moment.

Cross your fingers for me that it is worth every dime and enjoyable, I'll post after our trip (not until late Jan. whether or not it was worth it)

Oh and I also made rezzies for Lilo and Stitch Breakfast, I'm a huge Goofy's fan so I hope this is as good if not better, plus I really wanna see Stitch:banana:

I've never ate at the Blue Bayou so I am hoping it's all it's cracked up to be especially since this one dinner is more expensive than any nights of our stay at the Hojo! :scared1:

That sounds really pricey - even for BB. Congrats early on your one year anniversary. We are celebrating ours at DL on the 29th with dinner at BB as well. I know what you mean about celebrating the fact you haven't killed each other. I am a DL fanatic and my husband can hardly tolerate it....oh well. :goodvibes

"so I am hoping it's all it's cracked up to be"

Well I hate to burst your bubble, but there are many who don't feel it's all that terrific.

We spent under $90 on 3 adults and one kiddo (who ordered but refused to eat b/c his mac and cheese was so disgusting). Hubby and I shared the vegetarian meal and my marathon-running brother could only eat HALF of his monte cristo b/c it was so filling and rich, so we were stuffed and rolling out of there (except for my son) at well under that price fixe cost!

I hope it's really super-good for you, but I know we wouldn't do it even if we ate meat. And then you have to keep that keepsake glass from breaking!

Wait. Just ONE glass?????

And remember, that glass won't contain booze at the BB.

lol, no bubble bursted, it wasn't there to begin with, I've read lots about people who don't like it so no harm done, as long as I don't get food poisoning I'm good :)

I also know that lots of people don't care for Goofy's and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it, so it's completely subjective.

Yep, no booze but that's alright, as for the glass I always get a locker at Disneyland, so that's where the one glass will go.

Quick Q for those who have ate at BB, can you take your "leftovers" to go? I'm not a big eater, typically I order off the kids meal, so if DH can't finish off my plate (which he usually does) can I take whatever I have left "home" with me?

You sure can! :thumbsup2

I hope the Sweetheart dinner is worth it for you. :goodvibes

Yes you can....I want to do this dinner too. Did you ask where else you could do it? I've already got us a BB lunch planned and wanted to do something different for his b-day dinner. :)

For me, the $150 at BB would be worth it......but I loooooove BB and not just for the food, I love the whole feeling of BB, it's just so cool.....

You can't look at it as $150 for dinner or you will be disappointed.

Think of it as $40 for a souvenir glass and $55/person for dinner at the Blue Bayou at Disneyland.

In any case, if it's how you want to celebrate your momentous occasion, enjoy!

(Trust me, I know! We spent way too much on 8 days at WDW for a 10 year anniv. celebration we will NEVER forget! And it was worth every penny to us.)

You can go to: Yamabuki, Napa Rose, Steakhouse 55 and Blue Bayou

Also just to clarify to all... I'm not concerned about the cost at all, I was just shocked when that's was she told me (it is Disneyland afterall) either way I know we'll enjoy it!

I'd love to do this and I wish they had more of an explanation on the website or at least from the CM when you call. Part of me thinks that maybe there's something more than just the dinner and souvenir glass. Like rose petals on the table, well probably not, but something like that. I hope you love it! I can't wait to hear about it.

I would do this dinner just once too. It wouldn't be our first anniversary, but still fun! DH has never eaten at BB so I think he'd enjoy just being there too. Sucks you only get one glass but ah well. Also BB is a good choice because we dont drink alcohol and would prefer the cider anyway :)

I was laughing as I read this because my kids also though the mac n cheese was disgusting, very water and taste-less. The kids loved the mac n cheese at Ralph Brennans WAY better! Our dinners were faaaannnnntastic! but the kids dont want to go back there, I'll have to find a way to bribe them...hhhhmmmmmmm:rolleyes:

YES! I know where we're celebrating our 6 year anniversary (dating) next year! Yamabuki it is!!!

Would the Napa Rose dinner be $150 too? Or does the price differ on what place you eat?

I wonder what they mean by desert served with a 'flair'. I wonder if there is somehting really special and exciting that they are planning on doing. It'll be interesting to hear about!

Our 10th anniversary is coming up in May and I inquired about the dinner. A cast member said that they could do a dinner on a private balcony at the Grand CA. hotel and the food would be from the Napa Rose. Sounds great too!

This sounds like a fun new offering. I can't wait to see what Disney pulls out for this event! I think it will be great!

BTW I so can not talk about any one splurging as I talked DH into doing Napa Rose for the NYE spectacular again this year!!!!!!!!!!!

Can't wait to read your report. I want to know about the "shared" appetizer. IMO, for $150 you each should get your own. Congratulations on your upcoming anniversary.

I am considering doing it, but I want to book BB for it, and as it stands that might not be an option as it may close with the refurb. I may check into Napa Rose as we were going to dine there one night also.

Now THAT sounds like a wonderfully, special dinner!
