Wow, the accident caused $8,100 in damage

Most cars today are designed to "crumple" and absorb the damage to prevent the occupants from getting tossed around and injured. Even what seems to be minor dents/whatnot will usually need to be replaced, rather than just bent back into place.

I find that the more stars in the crash rating, means more $$$ to repair. Those stars did it's job, you weren't hurt!

I had a very minor accident that was my fault awhile back. The only damage was a piece of rubber trim inside the wheel. I told the driver if it was under $1500. I'd pay. This piece ofr trim was $1800. so I put it thru my insurance. I wish I hadn't since the increase for this small accident was the same as for a major accident. The insurance co told me anything over $1500. gets rated the same for 3 years.
