Wow!!! That's Nuts! Pin Trading Event!

okay - by far the most painful dc is the moment you sit in the trade chair and - whoosh! -. Well, maybe second to the dc right before hitting the final "accept" button.

I am currently in line right now for this event. I have been trying on and off all day but it has not been going well.

I do not mean to sound rude, but I think it is a little seflish that so many of you are trying to enter these rooms more than once and with more than one character. Did you stop to think of the other players who cannot even get into the room and complete a trade? I know that not all of you are doing this, but I think that some of you should celebrate your good fortune and then move on and let the rest of us have a chance.

In principal, I agree with you. I will admit that I did use a second account to try and get a second chance during the afternoon trading event. In my defense though, I was going to gift the second pin. Other than that, I used the same account all day and only completed one trade per event.

I'm not sure that muling has any impact today though. Most people can't get through the trade without a disconnect. So, as long as there are 49 people in the line it doesn't really matter if they are main accounts or mules. :confused3

It's tough enough to get one character through, I can't send mules as well! I have played every time they open a room though, and I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm sorry you are having a tough time, I do know how it feels. I went into this thinking I would probably not make it into the rooms, because I usually can't with a lot of the host games. I did disconnect today too - in line, in the room, trading with host...I just spent all day trying.

If some of our happy posts made you feel bad, I apologize! But we have to do a little celebrating once in a while when things go well, to balance out all the complaining we do when things are going badly. Just keep trying and I'm sure some luck will come your way! :)

*sigh* I hate it when this happens...

OK, on the record here, since when did the DIS ever do this? Granted, I have seen (and known) a few others that did this on another forum, but to the best of my knowledge, I have yet to see a DISer actually do this? I hate it when people immediatly think the worst of everyone, as it is completely uncalled for. This has happened before, and I can't say I'm surprised it has happened again. Please, for the love of all things good, do not immediatly make assumptions such as this on a mass scale.

I'm sorry you're having such a bad time with this.
I have gotten in once this round and traded successfully. I then waited for a while and now I am in queue waiting again.

I tried for 2 solid hours last night just to get into the queue, let alone get into the room. I also had no success getting in the early afternoon event.

All I can say, is keep trying. The event is also going all weekend, including Monday.

I log in, try to get into the queue for about 8 minutes, log off and repeat until I get into the queue. This helps to keep from dc'ing as you are getting into the room or as you're trading. :)

And for the record, I have not had a mule on at the same time as another character.

Yup!!! Happened to me! Both boxes were checked and I clicked on the accept trade twice and then kaboom, black screen. I signed back on quick to see if it went through and it didn't. :( Worse thing is ppl who weren't even trading were saying Muhola or however you say it to her, and her back, nearly a minutes worth of greetings and her asking outside of trade box "which pin". So I got it typed in what I wanted and hit enter as soon as I was in the seat, but she still asked me in the box and I had to retype.

To Princess Jen, I have four players in my house, only one other is really capable of doing well for himself (even though he had to get in the room and ask for churro when I am trading churro!) and I share my pins and rare costumes with them. One was so excited to get to wear the churro until I traded it (and got another). They don't have the patience to sit and click with no reward forever on end. This afternoon I got in the room three times but dc before ever trading, so I guess I can live with myself of having a second player hopefully succeed with a trade, considering the possible number we would be allotted if we all got in each session. As of yet our house of 4 consistant players has gotten 3 pins in 3 trading sessions. :confused3
edit-dc at 5th in line anyway

Grrrr! DC'd just as I was clicking on the final accept button. I knew that was going to happen. I even told myself that I shouldn't try to get into queue again, but I did one last time.

I logged back in to see if Hula went ahead and put the pin in my inventory, but she didn't.

Oh well. I'm done with that for the night. I'll try again tomorrow!

Well, gave it my first try today...took me 1/2 hour to get in, and then I dc after about a minute. Sheesh. I wonder why the lines are so long to get in, when the queue line inside the room really isn't that long at all? :confused3

Well, since I didn't get a chance to...Hello Hula!! :goodvibes

I've gotten in the queue three times since yesterday. First time I DC'd when I was about 3rd in line and I could have gotten the Churro pin. Then I DC'd when I was about to enter the room but didn't actually make it in. Then just a minute ago I DC'd when I was about 2nd or 3rd in line again when I could have gotten a HM Bride pin. So frustratating! :sad2:

I think that what you said is uncalled for. All you have to do is go through this thread and see the members that have posted about having two characters in line at once and how about how they are going in for another trade because there was more than one pin that they wanted.

I know that not everyone is doing this and I do understand the temptation to. But I feel that others should allow everyone to get a chance. I dont mind if you sign onto another REAL account, like a friend's or a kid's, but mules. I just have seen certain people in this thread talk about getting their mules in there and going for the third and fourth time and that is not right.

This is my opinion, but I don't think you should say things without reading the entire thread to see if it is true.

Let the mayhem continue!

I got in at number 6! :cool1:

EDIT: And... line's not moving...
EDIT2: Line's moving again, at number 5.
