WOW September ADRs

I am amazed, I am 174 days out from my trip in late September and I wanted to see what ADRs I could get. My Dreams agent got me Chef Mickey's for a late breakfast on my first choice of days, however curiosity got me poking around the Disney reservations system on my own.

I hear all the can't get reservations talk, and one guide book even refers to setting your clock to the atomic clock and pre planning how long it takes for your call to connect as the only way to get an ADR for certain places. Then I here because of the free dining (that ended in December), that even though the parks will be slow in in September, the Table service will be crowded. So here is what I found... CRT is available every day of my trip... even now 6 days after the reservation window opened. In addition Le Cellier is also available for every day. To be fair Le Cellier has a few days where only early dinner and late dinner are available.

The only 3 full on Sunday the 25th of Sept is The Garden Grill, the Diamond Horseshoe and Tommorrowland Terrace and Tuskar House. On the 26th it is the same list but add T-Rex.

Does this mean it is slow, very slow that week? Does this mean that there is a chance that free dining may again be needed to fill the parks/beds/restaurants? We as the general public do not have any way to see hotel occupancy and see how "sales" are going for the parks on any given day, but maybe this is a indicator.

Edit... I cannot stop my self.... what do I find so interesting about the reservations system... any way, I also checked the 9/13 approx 160 days out and well into the reservation window for everyone. The same availability for dinner, pretty much everywhere. Breakfast on the other hand had 21 available locations (Including the Royal Table) and 53 unavailable.

I then checked Sept 30th... Currently either 179, 180 or 181 days out (my math is a little fuzzy). I found the same restaurants full that I found on all the other days. What does this mean? Are they planning on being open? Do they not take ADRs? Strange list...

The Diamond Horseshoe
Fresh Mediterranean Market
The Garden Grill Restaurant
Garden View Tea Room
T-REX A Prehistoric Family Adventure
Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe

Le Cellier is no longer the most difficult to get, so that having availability isn't that odd. 'Ohana would be the one to check (and F! packages).

As far as that list of restaurants, some of them are seasonal, Garden Grill has been having table issues for the entirety of Sept (many people reporting nothing earlier than 6:30pm, even at full 180+10), and T-REX only releases a portion of their tables to Disney. Not sure about the tea room (limited seatings is likely) and the Fresh Mediterrean Market (Swan/Dolphin?)

As you've also noted, it's better than it has been in the past, most likely due to no general public offer since the one expired in Dec.

Yes, Ohana. I was able to get a time on the 23rd (on my 180 day) but not what I wanted. I have been trying several times a day, every day since then and still have not managed yet. I still have 169 days to go however.

we're going at the beginning of Sept over labor day and out of curiousity I've gone back and checked ADRs for a lot of places and there is still so much available! ... ohana, le cellier, even cindy's was still available for dinner the last time I looked!

no release of Free Dining offer to the General Public = ADR availability

If they had released FD offer in March like they did last year for Fall 2010, I think you would have found less open tables.

We're going to be there Labor Day week and I found everything we wanted on less than 180 days.

Le Cellier dinner being signature has dropped it off the sell-out list...people on dining plan won't cough up 2 credits unless they're on DXDDP

This is good to hear. Hopefully it will be a slow time. We will be there the last week of September, and it will be nice if the crowds are too bad. This will be the 3rd time I have gone at that time of year and I love it.

we are going the last week of september, we were going to go with delux dining, but couldn't get a lot of the adr's. was very disappointed we couldn't get chef mickey's for dinner. we went last april, and were able to book reservations the morning of. i'm wondering if this is an indicator that this week is going to be busy.

I have had an easier time getting ADR's for this trip (last week of September) then I did for our trip the last week in January (during a free dining period.) Even now, well into the window, I've been making little changes and additions and nothing has really been completely unavailable. Have changed CRT twice with no trouble, Le Cellier was very available, though at some strange times, Akershus, Cali Grill, T-rex, no problem. Strangely, had trouble booking Rose and Crown and Citricos at the times I wanted, but they were available....

ETA: I will say that having a three year old, we tend to eat a little early for dinner (5:30-ish) and Lunch (11:30-ish) and also for this trip I didn't book any breakfasts (besides CRT) and no character buffets...
