We can't go!!!!!!!!!!

We will be just back on 5/1 from Disney and the kids are still in school, BUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Who are the lucky ones?!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Members to take over the World
Earlier this year, Disney Vacation Club Members took over a Disney Cruise Line® ship during the S.S. Member Cruise 2003. Next spring, Members will take over the World. May 25-27, 2004 has been officially decreed Disney Vacation Club Member Homecoming at the Walt Disney World Resort. This is the Member event of your dreams—a multiday, Members-only celebration packed with once-in-a-lifetime events and private after-hours Theme Park access featuring exclusive entertainment. Our celebration culminates with the grand opening of our newest addition to the neighborhood, Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa.

Reservations will be accepted beginning December 17, 2003. Watch your mailbox for a personal invitation or visit dvcmember.com for more details."

Interesting. Since it says "Reservations" will be accepted, it is probably an additional cost like the e ticket nights. Depending on the event and cost of the event, Disney many times makes these extra hard ticket events very, very nice. I am curious to see what this event will entail.

We will be there.Just talked today about planning a trip the last of May for my birthday(May 25)princess: .Cant wait

We will barely miss it. We will be there May 30.:(

That sounds great, wish we knew about it sooner. They should put that out at the 11 month window so members could plan on going to it. We are leaving WDW on May 21. Would love to stay for the DVC member special.

How often has WDW done this kind of thing for DVC members? Seems like a great idea

Well, I guess the rumor I heard back in Oct from a CM is true!

It was nice to see that they put in Saratoga traditions like the Peppermint Pig, I am glad to see that they paid attention to some of the traditions here in Saratoga NY. First Night is also a blast, and we just went to the Victorian stroll last thursday!

We will be there! I'm curious to check it out even if they charge a fee. I guess I'll call on the 17th and see what's going on.

We already have reservations for a studio at BCV for the 23-28th. I'm really interested to hear all the details about this.

Exactly!!! I made ressies a few months ago for May 1-9. We will be a group of 4 adults and two children. We haven't purchased airline tickets yet, but it was a hassle trying to find time everyone could go. The DVC member cruise didn't allow alot of time for planning either. In fact, we had just come back from WDW when it was announced. If we had known earlier, we would have cancelled our trip and done the cruise. Don't know why they can't make their plans earlier like we all do. We don't know until about a month ahead of time what the park hours will be or what special events will be going on. I know from reading this board that Dissers are PLANNERS, if nothing else.

Oh, well, surely one of these years it will work out for me. To those of you who are able to attend, have a wonderful time and send in those trip reports!!!!

DH and I will be there! We already have booked two days at AKL concierge and the 25th-29th at BWV for our 10th anniversary. Can't wait to see what they offer!

Excellent point. Seems like poor planning not to make this information available at the 11 month window.

Always short notice, I was getting excited thinking it might be a cruise again - did not get to do the member cruise either :( had a cruise booked already. My birthday is on the 29th, that would be a great birthday - too bad they did not include a week-end since kids are in school. Perhaps one day it might workout for us too.

This makes me mad. Why can't they plan these things out before the 11 month mark? We are already going from the 8th - 15th and then the 7-day cruise on the 15th. We are to be coming back on the 22nd and the tickets are already bought. Same thing happened to us last year when they announced the cruise. We already had a cruise booked with points for May. Guess we'll never make it to one of these special events, because we like to plan way in advance. I hope that everyone that gets a chance to go has a great time and reports back to us on all the events.

We made our ressies for a BWV studio about a month ago.... talk about lucky. We'll happen to be there May 24-28.

BTW, I am the luckiest person I know.

Later,

Dude

I am quite sure the whole point of this is to call attention to the opening of SSR. This is a PR thing that couldn't be planned further ahead because they didn't know that long ago.
