WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I sent mine in yesterday and it was delivered already...but no call. How long does it usually take them? I won't be here all day so I would hate to miss their call.

I sent a 14K gold necklace and bracelet yesterday at 3:00, and I had a call today at 2:30. Less than 24 hours!

My was delivered by 1030am EST and my call came through abuot 430pm EST. My money was in my account by 8am Friday morning. NICE!!!

Late yesterday I sent 3 skinny chains, 2 flimsy bracelets, 2 pairs of earrings, and 3 rings to USGB. Today I got a call offering $1,024. I am happy as a clam!!

Most excellent! Do you remember how much your gold weighed in total? And what grade was it? 14 K? Or higher? TIA

Quick question. Do you have to know the weight before you send it in? It sounds like a lot of you know the weight ahead of time. Honestly, I'm just looking for the easiest route :) I don't think I have anything worth a lot, but whatever I'd get is more than I have today!

Thanks :thumbsup2

No, you do not have to know what the weight is of your metals. Now, it would be good to have an idea, so that way, you can Fed X, instead of paying the shipping yourself, plus paying for insurance and or confirmation of delivery via USPS. That said, if you are more certain than not, that your metal weighs at least one troy ounce, then ship it via Fed X. USGoldBuyers will pay for it. They have an account with them. To give you an idea as to what that feels like, take 6 US quarters and put them in your hand. It might not seem like all that much, but it takes quite a bit of metal to be appoximately equal to that example. And again, that is an approximation.

Did you make out good? I was happy with my #'s. More then I had 3 hours before.

I am thrilled. This was on older necklace and bracelet that I havent worn for 10-15 years. They offered 919.78. I choose to wait for a check. They said it would be mailed the same day (yesterday).

Not sure if you were asking me, but I'll answer! :) Only one ring was 10K, everything else was 14K. I think the weight was a little over 30g but that was regular gram weight and two of the rings had stones. When USGB called with their quote, they said it resulted in 25.7 pennyweight. They gave me the purity level but I didn't write that down.

Well my quote was kind of blah :( I sent in a rope chain, thin bangle bracelet, 3 rings and a thin necklace and got offered 260.00.

I really expected more....oh well. I weighed it before it left but can't really remember what it weighed....it did weigh .20 of a pound when I had it weighed for FedEx though, so not a lot. Oh well....I've never been a big jewelry wearer so I suppose it's better than nothing for what little stuff I had.

Thank you! I have a few old chains, one that's a rather heavy men's herringbone style, a men's school ring and a women's school ring. We'll see what else I can find. Maybe I can get to that 6 us quarters thing :thumbsup2

Just thought I would throw my few cents in on USG. I wouldn't use them again. I contacted them and said I had a few silver necklaces and possibly a gold chain. They said send them in no minimum. I sent them in. I received a call back from a nice man. I was told my gold necklace wasn't of much value but the rings were. I said fine send the check and the rest I wanted back which were two items. The man said he would send them by USPS once they received the letter which he told me to sign and fax. I received my check promptly. I then had a few more rings I found and sent them in. I did my letter and faxed it to them for the first order.

I once again received call from the same man and returned the call. This time I received a rather unpleasant man as the one I initially contacted was not "available". This guy was a total unprofessional jerk who told me that if I didnt sent in a certain amount of gold or silver then to not bother.
I did receive the check for the second set I sent in. But I have still to receive anything back from my first order even though I had faxed them twice now the same letter telling them to mail it back.

I wouldn't use them ever again. This kind of shady service makes me wonder if my gold necklace was indeed worth something and they are just scamming me. I will just say buyer beware!

Sorry you had a bad experience, but to call it a scam is a bit of a stretch, given the dozens, maybe hundreds of people in this forum alone who have had positive experiences with this company.

No excuse for the guy being a jerk, though. I would've call back the next day and asked for another representative, or even to speak with a manager.

Unfortunately when a company doesn't so what they advertise, I wouldn't trust them with a single ring regardless of the price. The checks came fast as I said, but by not sending me back the items they promised after I faxed them their own form , makes you have to wonder. The second guy I spoke to was a absoluite jerk. As for me, that was enough for me to look elsewhere.

Sadly, I had the same experience with them. They were jerks when I contacted them about why my stuff wasn't returned.

At least I'm not alone. I just want people to be aware of what happened. I was promised that my stuff would be returned and it wasn't after I did what they asked. I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I just won't do business with them again. Ever. Regardless of what people will tell me.

One is free to do business with whomever they might wish to. I and many others have had nothing but good and positive experience with US Gold Buyers. I have read over time so many wonderful reviews of them in this thread, that I decided to try them out. Like I had posted in the past, I was most pleasantly surprised by the payouts. For I did not send in all that much gold in my first shipment. And my second I had less gold, but quite a bit of silver, but still another nice payout. My third outing, was for less, but then it was quite a bit less gold too. Still though, taken all together, my total payout exceeded over 1 K. That made me happy.
I love gold, but what I love the most is Rhodium, Platinum then Gold, Palladium and then Silver.

I'm sorry for your experience, but this is not a scam! I agree with calling back the next day, things do happen. The person you spoke with should have handled your situation better, no excuse for that.
This is not a scam I personally know several people who used this company including myself. I was very pleased with everything, including the return of what was not purchased by them. BTW I just got another $25. check on Friday referral:banana::banana:
