Yay How much did you send in? I have used them in the past, and thinking of sending in some more.

I sent in:
1 10k gold omega necklace
1 chain
1 14k gold bracelet
1 10k gold bracelet
6 small pairs of earrings
1 14k dome ring

3 of the pairs of earrings I sent in addition to the above were gold plated and one bangle wasn't gold at all. I wasn't sure about them, but figured I might as well send them on the off chance that they were gold.

I would like to try this out... does USGB stand for US gold buyers or US Gold Bureau? do they have a website?

I think i am going to send in a few small pieces first to see if it works


my fiances has a lot of "joan rivers" stuff but i am not sure if those are gold or not... it seems too cheap to be gold. regardless we have other items that are gold.

US Goldbuyers. My guess is that the Joan Rivers stuff is not gold. I just glanced at it at QVC.com and for those prices it's most definitely not real. The pieces I looked at said "goldtone" or "silvertone."

It's worth a try. All the local places I called were paying $16-$18/DWT. I do wish that I could have gotten a breakdown from USGB per piece, but I'm not too broken up about it since, after Paypal fees, I walked away with $560 from pieces I haven't worn in years.

anyone else request a bank check? if so, how long did it take you to get it? and did it arrive by regular mail? I'm waiting for mine. I have never accepted any money through paypal, and didn't want to try to figure it out. I think I was told two to three days, so hoping it comes tomorrow.

I requested a check from them, as I don't have a paypal account. I had it within 3 days. But I think they tell you to allow 7 days

Just FedEx'ed my package yesterday...they called today....$544. I was hoping for a little more as I weighed it before I sent it in and thought I woud get a little over $600. I had 5 necklaces, 1 double rope bracelet and 2 heavy gold rings (mens). I should have Paypal tonight...or Tuesday since it is a holiday weekend.

I didn't think there were any Paypal fees taken out though....if there are then I would have chosen a check...in no rush for payment just thought Paypal was the easiest.

Oh..and my mom told me she sold her gold locally for a little over $4,000!! Guess she had a lot of stuff from over the years!!

i got a bank check, as i closed my paypal account several years ago, due to all the phishing e-mails i was getting "from" them. USGB called me with my payout on monday, and my check arrived in the mail on friday.

There are fees taken out. I lost $16. It's a bummer, but our bank is 45 min away and so driving to deposit a check is a pita.

I sold one 10K ring.one 14K plain gold band,three earrings and one thin chain at a local jewelry/coin shop today and got a $395 dollar check on the spot!I was very pleased.

Got the call today from USGB, I got $205. I didn't send much so I am happy with that. Would have liked more, but it's better than nothing.

You will pay the fees. Did you know the more you send in the higher the price for payout. So you should be sure to send it all in at once.

I did know that thankyou! I hadn't decided a year ago whether I would sell/get rid of the things I'm sending in this week. A year makes all the difference in the world I guess. LOL

Lucky for me both shipments didn't add up to the point of bumping me into a higher payout so *whew* I'm not missing out on that.

Thanks again for the reminder.......others might really benefit from knowing that!

That looks like the site. I only have a little bit of gold. I went to a local jeweler, and one week @ $200 was offered, I should have accepted it. Because the next week, only $100.00 was, but I asked for $150.00 which was accepted, but I still did not sell. Because of the differences in the offers. I don't know exactly what I might have.
I have Less than one troy ounce... I know it won't be much. However still, if you believe that you might receive a higher payout, then I say wait.
