WOW - I just sold my old gold........

Me too! They do give you the price based on the day they received it.

They received my package early Tuesday morning and called me last night, 7pmish. They offered me $561 but to be honest it seems really low - I had 1.9 troy ounces of gold and 7 ounces of silver and they offered me $561.04. The silver was worth $71 and the gold the rest. Except for one small item the gold was 14K. Something doesn't add up to me, it would be worth more than what they are offering so I am stuck right now. I told them not to do anything and they said they would "put it in the vault."

Also, it's $15 to send back the things you don't want to sell / they don't want.

I'm thinking on it. Really, it was stuff I don't use. Still, I don't want to get majorly ripped off - just because I want to sell it. :confused3

Goldfellow or USGoldbuyer?

I went to a local place that buys gold and I had a few charms, a few necklaces and a bracelet and got $420.00. Just for stuff sitting in a jewelry box for years that I don't plan on wearing anymore.

I used Goldfellow and had an awesome experience. If you want the extra money then USgoldbuyer would be the way to go. I like the ease of Goldfellow with online account and online tracking. :thumbsup2

If USgoldbuyer pays more why not go with them? Is GoldFellow THAT much better in customer service? What do they offer that would compare with cash (other than what you stated)?

I have my gold ready to go ... but I haven't figured out where I want it to go!!

I, of course, want more money!!!! But people are still plugging GoldFellow
:confused3 :confused3

I need advice BAD! :scared1:

We are in the Chicago suburbs. After getting a few prices for our gold pieces from a few local jewelry stores we decided to check on one we found on craigs list. My husband went on Saturday to Richard Allen Jewelry in Hoffman Estates and came home with a check for 704.00. The first two stores offered us 200.00 and 500.00. If you go on the chicagoland craigs list and type in scrap gold you will get there phone number and address.

This is what they say on there add-- NO GAMES..shop around. We buy from consumers and dealers all over the country.
10K 11.42/gram (figures at $17.71/ dwt pennyweight)
14K 16.00/gram (figures at $24.80/ dwt pennyweight)
18K 20.57/gram (figures at $31.88/ dwt pennyweight)
22K 25.14/gram (figures at $38.97/ dwt pennyweight)

We are very happy with the outcome, I will defiantly go back if I come up with more stuff.
Hope this info helps.

Awesome! I'm in Elgin and was just wondering what to do with some gold charms, etc. that my daughter doesn't want. I'll have to go!

I know how you feel. They called last night and offered me $411. All was 14k except for a few that were 10K. Local shop had offered $360 with out the 10K.

I got my call today and was offered $1,000, I know that's a lot of money but quite frankly I was disappointed also since one bracelet was very thick and heavy 14 KT gold

I thought I had more than the couple of people who posted early on and got over $1000, but who knows, maybe I was just being greedy :rolleyes1

I decided to take the money, all that stuff was just sitting around anyway and selling it will send me on an extra vacation

I received my settlement from Goldfellow on Tuesday. They called my cell phone with their offer and it was in my paypal account by that evening. (yes paypal charges a fee for this). I received 441.00 for my "stuff". I never wore it anyway so I look at it as found money. Went right into my ING account for our vacation fund!

I was very happy with Goldfellow customer service!

Didn't you weigh the gold? If you did, you should of been able to figure out how much the offer should of been, and when it came, if it was off, you could of questioned it.

it will be interesting to see what the gold prices do next week.

Hi all I have a question ,usgoldbuyers offered me $662 for 40.5 pennyweight they received my gold on 3/19 I thought I would get a much larger offer. It was all 14kt.how do you calculate?? lets say their website says $25 per pennyweight for 14kt wouldn't be 25x40.5=payout???please help:worship:

Hmm... based on that weight/rate, I would have expected an offer of about $900. Usgoldbuyers told me I should expect 10% less than their posted rates if I had less than 5 oz (100 dwt) of gold. So if you have 40 dwt of 14k gold, 40 X 25 = 1000 - 10% ($100) = $900. ??

I have a question regarding selling your gold. If gold is at around $910 troy ounce right now, and assuming you have a full troy ounce, how much money would you expect to get from a gold buyer (like a reputable jeweler who is buying gold this week)? I'm assuming that they don't give you the full value of what your gold is worth, as they are trying to make money too, right?

Thanks!

Did they say if any of it was not gold? That coudl be why it was less? Or did they say the whole 40dwt was real gold?

Just a posibility.
