WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I sent mine yesterday. FedEx picked it up at 6:36PM and it was received by them at 12:52PM today. I am waiting for the call...... (rather impatiently)

i just got the call!!!! $404.82!

I sent in (all 10 and 14kt) 7 broken chains (mostly herringbone and none very thick or heavy) 2 bracelets (1 rope, one herringbone), a gold ring, a broken single earring and three charms.

Thank you to the OP and all the others who have given their testimonies! USBG said I should get my check in about 2-3 days.

I sent mine in yesterday as well, haven't received a call yet, but they might have left a voicemail on my home phone, though I gave them my work number as well.

I sent in:

2 thicker bracelets (though only one may have been worth anything, I couldn't tell)
11 rings,
1 thin bracelet chain
2 chains
4 charms
2 pocket watches with heavy chains.

Has anyone sent any Blackhills gold in? not sure what the difference is between that and regular gold.

**just got my call in. $170. He mentioned alot of non gold items, so hard to tell when you are not the one purchasing. Still good, it goes towards my Disney fund for this December!

I had been thinking of sending in old, unwanted gold and came across this thread. This sounds great so went full speed ahead gathering up my gold. I was looking at the website for USGB and have a question about payment. Does anyone know if the amounts they post on their site are per oz? They list amounts 0-5 oz, 5-10 oz. Is the amount listed per oz? Example: If I sent in 4 ozs will it be 4 times the amount listed?

Thanks to everyone on this thread as it has gotten me excited about adding to my disney fund.

USGB doesn't have an online request... you have to call them... their number is 877-977-GOLD.

On the bottom of the chart on the first page of the USGB site there is a dark red bar that says "prices in Pennyweight". You can click the bar below that to get the price in ounces. So if you have between 0-5 oz. of 14k gold today, you would get $505.40 per oz today, I believe. The payout amount will be based on the price of gold the day they call you, I think, but you could ask the person you speak with when they call to give you the quote.

Go to www.usgoldbuyers.com and I always have my information emailed to me with their account number, etc. They also have live chat on there so you can click on that and they will email it to you or tell you where the link is! I have never called them for the information

I'm trying out cash4gold.com, I requested an envelope from them. I won't be too disappointed if it's a scam since I wasn't going to do anything with the jewelry anyway, but I'll be excited if it does.

My son wants to see the banana, it doesn't have anything to do with my post, lol.

I saw a special on 20/20 about the different prices for gold....Just wanted you to know that cash4gold sent them a check for a quarter of the price that the gold was worth, a 20/20 member refused it and they sent him another check and doubled the amount. A local Jewelry store offered 900.00 for an ounce of gold as opposed to cash4gold offering 225.00.

Well, I did it. I sent in my package of gold. Dropped it off at FedEX/Kinkos yesterday so it won't actually get shipped until today. Can't wait for the phone call to see how much the old gold will contribute to our Disney 2010 trip.

I know I never had to call them before, but must have been lack of sleep or something - but I swear the link is gone. But I did use the chat link and had it sent to me ASAP. Mailed this morning so hopefully a few extra $$ for our trip.

My mistake... I didn't see a way to request the info online. When I clicked the "how it works" tab it told me to call so that's what I did.

I just followed the instructions that were emailed to me. It's 2 or 3 pages to print out. There is a sample airbill so you know exactly how to fill out the one from fed-ex. I called fed -ex and they came to my house. I asked for an airbill and a box. The guy waited while I filled out the airbill and out everything in the box. I did not have to pay anything!
