WOW - I just sold my old gold........

I FINALLY sent mine today! After starting the paperwork last fall, it took me until now to get my act together to get the paperwork, jewelry & shipping label all at the same place, same time, photographed & ready to mail. I'm not sure what to expect because I don't know if some of the pieces are real or not.

A question for those of you who have received your checks from USGB.
Did you get a breakdown of the payout, or just a check?

I sent my package yesterday afternoon and they called about 6:30pm tonight. I did notice that the payout on their site changed (went down) this afternoon from what it was yesterday and most of this morning. Just wondering what prices they used to calculate my offer. My package was signed for at 8:30 this AM.

Don't get me wrong I am thrilled, but just curious about how it works. This is found money.:thumbsup2

TIA

No breakdown, just a check. If you want a breakdown of how much was given for each piece and/or type of metal you sent, ask them over the phone and they should be able to give you that info.

Anyone know how best to remove a few stones from a ring? I recently had a new ring made from an old ring and used most of the stones. The old ring has one stone left that I'd like to remove before I send it to USGB with some other gold pieces.

I'm on their chat window now. I'm finally going to get this done. Paying off bills!!! Yippeee!

Was there something way back that someone said about mentioning that you are fromt he disboards and they would give you an extra 10%? Am I crazy?

Where in Canada, (Niagara Falls area) can you sell your gold? Does anyone know? Thanks!

The 10% disboard discount was for Goldfellow, not USGB. :goodvibes

Will US gold buyers buy the stones that are set in my rings??

I'm being such a chicken, I've had the paper work for awhile and I just can't bring myself to call fed ex for a pickup!

My understanding is that they won't pay you for them. I have a few stones that I'm trying to remove myself. Not sure exactly how to do that, however.

This is the response I got for us gold buyers when I emailed them about stones.

Hey all, My DH works in the city and went there a few weeks ago. I was offered by a national dealer.. the one that comes around to hotels ect. , 720.00. I got 1,400 at Usgb..:cool1: This is the place to go.. Now I dont know how it works online but in person.. they are the mint!!

Thanks for the info about the stones. I have some things that I'm going to send off in the next few days.

This will be my second package to USGB. I sent my first about 6 weeks ago. I sent 10 chains, 5 bracelets, 2 rings and 2 pairs of earrings. I received $1400. My local jeweler offered me $1,000. I was very pleased with the whole experience.

Well, I keep planning on calling and getting this started. TOMORROW- tomorrow, I'll do it. If I could just make the $300 I need to pay off my labor/delivery hospital bill, I'd be thrilled!

Hey- question though- for those of you who don't know what is what in your jewelry box- if you think it's gold, do you just toss it in? I have some stuff that I have no clue if it's real gold or costume jewelry or whatever, but I figured- I don't want it, might as well toss it in. Right?

Can't hurt to throw it all in. However, before I sent it off to USGB, I took my stuff to a local jeweler just so I would have an idea of what I could expect to receive. As I've said earlier, my local jeweler offered me $1,000. USGB offered me almost $400 more. Needless to say, I went with USGB.

Right
that's what I did.. some I wasn't sure if they were gold, some I was pretty sure they weren't- it's not easy to read if there is something k on there (like 10k/14k/etc.) on some tiny chains and things. So I threw it all in a baggie and sent it. I figured I'd be happy with $100- they offered $308 and I should be getting it soon! He did make a comment that there was quite a few things that weren't gold and asked me if I wanted it back or could they donate it to Salvation ARmy-I really don't know who could want those things but I said go ahead and give it away LOL

So anyway- my point is throw it in.It might be gold- and if it's not... they'll just ask you if you want them to give it away. :)

How long did it take to get the email with instructions? I called this morning and haven't gotten my email- should I call back or wait a bit longer? I hate calling places- wish you could just sign up online!

I did usgoldbuyers online and it sent me the email with instructions. I never had to call? What company are you using?

USGoldBuyers- on their site, it says...

"Call us toll free at 877-977-4653 to receive our easy-to-follow instructions via Email."

How else did you get your instructions?
