I only saw the end of Trading Spaces Saturday so I didn't see what Doug's deal was this time. Now I'm watching the re-run and man, he got mad at the home owners this time around. He told them, "I've done 30-something Trading Spaces rooms and you have to believe that I know what the H-E-double hocky sticks (only he didnt actually spell it out) I'm doing!" Then he got mad because he didn't get to do what he wanted to do with the floor. I've never seen him get this mad before and he gets mad a LOT. He was so mad that he video taped his instructions to the home owners and went away.

And while I'm on the Trading Spaces topic...what was Hildie thinking with the "Tiffany" blue and the swirling lines. That was like YUCK!

Hahahaha he is such a jerk! I remember when he got mad when the homeowners wouldn't let him paint a fireplace. He ended up making a totally country couple's living room poopoo brown with white grid lines. The woman ended up crying! I can't even imagine how PO'd they would have been if he DID paint the fireplace! I want to see that one now.

Darn it! I heard about it and would loved to have seen the re-run! All I saw was the very end of it....but I did see the Hildi room....I don't know...the blue was a pretty color but it looked like grafetti! I think I would actually have liked it at first (because I love blue) but it would get old very quickly.

Doug has to totally get over himself!!!!!! What an ego. The HOs were just trying to protect what was important to their friends. I wonder if the floor was on the "do not touch" list the HOs fill out before the show begins? I hated the head board and did you notice that they did not stain the inside of the armoire? Kinda tacky. All of Doug's snobby comments were really over the top. Of all his "30 some designs" I have only liked a few somewhat and most I think are either ridiculous (the CA living room that had the awful red and white pattern, the family room he made into a totally impractical "theatre") or boring (the green "Ball" room from last year). Hilde's room would have been fine if they had limited the graffitti to the fabrics. The blue was really pretty on its own. But in Hilde terms, not a disaster!

MosMom, they're rerunning the crying fireplace lady, the hay wall, and one other disaster room this weekend.

Oh the hay room....now there was a disaster! Didn't she have small children?

I really liked Dougs room.....I didn't care for Hildi's room at all....those swirly lines looked terrible!!!

Every time somebody disagrees with Doug he throws his little fit and they let him have his way, it must have pee'd him off for these homeowners not to fall for his crap. Good for them.

The other "disaster" room they're showing this weekend is the bedroom Laurie did where she painted it white and the ho's wanted red and she installed those starburst room dividers.

The ho said she didn't like this one particular fabric Laurie had made pillows with. After the episode Laurie asked for the pillows back and the ho said "no".

Doug is such a JERK! He always says it's not want the homeowners want, it's the designers vision:confused:

His room looked OK, but the floor would have looked horrible if he had done what he wanted.

Hilde's room would have been fine, if they had taken those stupid swirls off the wall:eek:

Yeah, I think its like three or four hours of "disaster" episodes this Saturday. I think I've seen them all but they're always fun to watch.

The other room I hated was the X room that Hildi did...Oh my goodness!

Doug gets on my LAST nerve!!!

But so does Hildi most of the time

Did anyone see this weekend though? The cabin, woodsy "fire" room? I really liked that one!!

The disaster shows are amazing can you even imagine being one of those Ho's and have your room ruined like that and hen to have ot on National TV to boot? OY

The hay room was the worst!
Yes she had 2 little kids.

I LOVE VERN!!!

Wow - I wonder if the 3rd one will be the infamous "moss" room.

Every time I get my parents to sit down and watch it with me, it's an ATROCIOUS episode! The first one they saw with me was the one with the red and white room, with designs on the wall that looked like huge tv screens.

Ewww...I saw the moss one a few days ago and I have to wonder what in the world was Gen thinking??? That and the hay episode have to be the two worst rooms I've ever seen. Plants on walls is a big no-no in my house.

Doug was in rare form in this most recent episode. The HOs said in their "before" interview that they did not want the floors touched. But I gotta admit, the female HO working with Doug was antagonistic from the get-go. I'm not sure he would have reacted the same if they had had a different attitude themselves! (they hated the color of the walls, and then they hated that he painted the ceiling the same color - and they hated the dark brown color for the trim) But what a prima donna! He actually refused to help them - he sat and read the newspaper when they needed his help with the curtains and the headboard - I taped it and haven't even seen the end result yet - but he still was very "Doug"!

Everytime I read these posts I don't read H-O, I read Ho LOL "Then the Ho's wanted this" LOL Cracks me up. I know it is short for Homeowners but I still read it as Ho.

I think that had I been in Dougs place I would have been upset too. They commented (negatively) on everything he had planned for the room. Why bother going on the show if you like nothing!!! He could not have just pulled this room out from the blue - he had to have had some suggestions from them!

Hildes room - did not like it either! The swirls were way over the top if you ask me!

I think Doug is just a big spoiled brat. He acts like a big baby until he gets his way.

Painted brown trim with grey walls. I think the people were absolutely right to put up a fuss. If you are going to have brown trim it should be stain and if you can't do something properly in two days then don't do it at all. It may have looked fine on tv but I imagine that it looked pretty gross in real life.

The good thing about Vern is that he doesn't try to do the "fake it" version. His two day projects don't look like two day projects the way most of the other "designers'" do.

There's nothing more disgusting then a poor stain job. The only way to fix it is to strip it right down. The designers shouldn't be allowed to touch wood floors.
