WoW! Doug Got M-A-D

MosMom, I thought the same thing about Ho. I thought it was just my sick mind.

I do like this show though, and enjoy reading the comments. I was on the phone when yesterday's episode was on so I could only watch and didn't hear what was said.

I wonder how much of that was staged to add drama to the show. I don't doubt that the HOs didn't want Doug to touch the floors and were protecting what their neighbors didn't want touched, but I wonder if the directors or cameramen encouraged them to "play it up" a little and it was a bit of improvisation on their part. I may be off on that, but it was just a thought that crossed my mind.

I'm not defending Doug and I'm not a Doug fan either -- I think he's talented, but I also think he's pretty arrogant also. Besides, didn't he get a little upset in another episode this season? He's done some nice rooms, but mostly it's not my taste.

I think you guys are missing the point. Trading Spaces is a hit BECAUSE of the drama. It's not really a show about home improvement, in and of itself. What episodes do we want to talk about the most? The ones where there's some conflict or the ones where there's some element of "can you believe they really did this?"

Yes, Doug's a drama queen, but he makes the show more interesting. As much as it kills me to say it, Hildi does too. I know I wouldn't keep watching if all we had were Laurie's yellow kitchens or geometric-designed living rooms.

By now, the homeowners know exactly the risks they're taking by allowing Trading Spaces to come and redesign their room. I have no sympathy for any of them (except for maybe that hay room lady).

And I agree with Mickey's Sunshine on this one. The homeowners were griping the entire episode (actually just the wife). The husband was even commiserating with Doug for a while saying "see what I have to put up with."
