WOW Disney's ME is great!

To make a long story short, My DSister paperwork from American Airline Travel (she had to use them to get the package at a reduced price using her reward points) didn't include the Magical Express tags or vouchers to get on the bus. I was on her everyday for the past two weeks, and she was on AA travel but they NEVER told her that they forgot to request them from Disney even though she gave them all the flight info. SO she gets hers papers yesterday (saturday) and we leave a week from today. The AA travel papers say Disney didn't send them so you can grab your bags off the luggage rack and bring them on the bus. Just check in at the DME terminal and they will have your reservation and you should be fine to ride the bus.

Well I know this doesn't go as smoothy as they claim AND this kinda takes away the fun of just hopping off the plane and going. So I give her the DME telephone number. ( I have this because I DID get all the DME stuff from Disney). She calls DME and they are WONDERFUL! Very helpful. They told her that AA travel did not request it and that she is too close to get her tags printed and sent by them. But then the lady has an idea. She contacts someone local around here (we live in the Baltimore/Washington Dc area) and that person is able to print the tags and vouchers and put it in the mail up here and she will receive them by Tuesday.
Now I know this DME girl didn't have to do this, but she stayed with my sister and didn't give up until she had confirmed that this mysterious person up here had printed the vouchers.

Has anyone ever had this happen before? Do you know who this person is up here that did this?
 
It's a VERY good thing she called them. If she had shown up, without a reservation, she would be unable to utilize Disney's Magical Express.

As for the tags... my guess is that the print vendor that Disney uses has an office in the DC area.
 
I will have to start checking in all my customers trash now. I work on Color copiers in Many of the prints shops from Balto. to DC area.

I found one that does a bit for Sixflags ,The Ravens and other local stuff. It's nice to see something that was made on one of my Machines I work on.

And Yes ME is great we have not had a problem with any request yet.

I didn't get my tags, blah blah blah
You know what, I have been to Disney both trips booked last minute and have never seen a tag.
Yet my luggage is always there.
If that is all you have to whine about you are lucky.

UH... the problem here was NOT just tags it was NO reservation....

(And someone is in a good mood today!)

She didn't have a reservation for Magical Express. You have to have a reservation in advance to get on the bus.

Sorry If I offended you. They are correct. They Travel agency they used did not request ME, even though we gave them all the flight information. That means she wouldn't have been able to get on the bus. And the tags weren't as much of a issue since I have plenty in my reservation. I certainly wasn't whining. I was giving DME a compliment.

If you don't mind me asking how does your luggage end up in your room if you don't have the tags? DO you ride on the bus to the resort?

Just venturing a guess here, since I am not the poster you are asking, but...if you give the ME people your baggage claim slips when you check in they will get you your bags. We had to do this the first time we used ME. They just asked for the claim slips along with descriptions of the bags and they made it to our room just fine. :thumbsup2

The question is, what did the travel agent's paperwork say about how to get from the airport to the resort. If the papers say take ME and that does not work, the travel agent could be on the hook for the transportation costs.

Another of the advantages of dealing with travel agencies that have an emegency contact number you can call them at from a pay phone on a pylon not far from the ME welcoming area.
