Would you switch resorts for 1 night?

Hi Everyone
Not sure if this is the place to ask this question but I thought I would start here. I have 9 nights booked at BWV. The first 8 nights I have the Boardwalk view and the last night I could only get pool/garden view. I have been on a waitlist for almost 4 months. It is Veterans Day weekend and I know a lot is going on that weekend. I just need the Sunday night. If my waitlist does not open should I try a new resort for the last night? Would you rather switch rooms in the same resort or try a different resort? I have the AP so I was thinking of taking advantage of the AP discount when it comes out. I check my waitlist everyday and I know there is still plenty of time for something to open but being such a busy weekend I don't have high hopes. If we switch resorts I thought we woul just chill at the pool for the last day.

Thanks everyone !!!!!

I think switching resorts is very easy and do it every trip now. That said I'm not sure I would do it for one night. In your case you have to do the hard part in either option (packing). So I'm a bit wishy washy in my opinion but for one night I probably wouldn't do it.

Thanks everyone !!!!

I was really excited to change for the last 2 nights but I can't get any resorts on the Sat. night. My second favorite resort is AKL Jambo and nothing is available for the 2 nights. Should I just waitlist the 2 nights at AKL? My other thought was paying cash for the last night at BWV but of course nothing is available for a cash reservation. :confused3:confused3
I know its the half marathon but this is crazy. I have been on the waitlist for 4 months for just 1 night. Will the BW area hotels be crazy due to the marathon and end of Food and Wine? Maybe I should just try the AKL waitlist.
Thanks again for all the great ideas. I really appreciate it.:):):)

I know I can't believe how much is going on that last weekend. I looked in to changing our last 3 nights to stay at one resort since we haven't been able to get the 7th yet. Nothing is available anywhere:(... I am glad I was able to get a room for the 7th at BLT because I know it's not going to become available to BWV.I just wish I was able to get it for the last 3 nights. I don't know what it is about Thursday's that it is so hard to get. I wait list a Thursday before during the F&W and it never came through:( So we are going to pack an over night bag for BLT then a 2 day bag. So when we check back into to BW we won't unpack everything, we leave on Sunday and check back in to BW on Friday.

As far as the hotel being crowded, we never noticed the crowd at the Hotel during the marathons, but I never notice crowds at the hotels when they are full:)..I think you'll be fine at the Hotel. I guess we should be happy that we even able to get a room.

DW and I have been at AKL-CL for two nights and transferred to a non-CL room for the 3rd night. No problem at all, went down at 07:30 and checked-in, room was ready, so we moved our stuff right after breakfast in the CL.

That's certainly the best case scenario. We, too, have checked into a resort around 8:30am and found a villa was readily available.

But when you're dealing with a situation where the change is prompted by lack of availability in a certain room class, it means that all villas are occupied the night before. A room will not be available until it is vacated by the outgoing guests and serviced by housekeeping.

The more likely occurrence is that belongings will all have to be packed-up and stowed with Bell Services by 11am, and the new room will not be available until later in the day.

I'm in the same boat as you are for a trip in September. The first night I want is in a different resort from the next four nights (I am waitlisted, though). If I were you, I would to stay in the same resort, even with a different view category. In my situation, I will not. My first night is in a totally separate resort.

*I* would. The rest of my family however... no.

One year, when phase 1 of AKV opened ( before kidani villlage ) we stayed 2 nights there before continuing at our "home" BCV. I loved doing that and checking out what the rest of the world had to offer. The rest of the family found it a hassle to have to repack and move.
