Would you switch out CG for another Sig?

Hi. I currently have both Dinner and Brunch reservations at CG in September. I also have Dinner booked at Flying Fish and Jiko. My wife and I ate at CG in April and loved it but this will be a solo trip. If it were you would you keep both reservations at CG or would you swap out dinner for another Sig? I keep flip flopping on what I'd like to do. I enjoy all cuisines so no limitations.

Appreciate hearing other's opinions!

I love CG but since you are going for brunch, I would change the dinner reservation to something else where the menu appeals to you. Artist’s Point in WL is closing/changing, so it might be a good opportunity to try it.

Second this post. Brunch is better at CG, so I'd cancel the dinner at CG. I'd go to AP since it's very likely the last time you'll be able to enjoy it in its current incarnation.

If you like steak, the Yachtsman for dinner is fabulous, but I think you need to be a steak lover to get the most out of it.

Thanks for the replies! I'm staying at WL and Artist Point was one of my first ADRs but I canceled after reading so many mixed reviews. Will have to start watching the reviews again to get a feel for how it's going. Seems to be plenty of availability so no rush to make the switch if I go that route.

Have they officially announced the plan for AP once they re-open?

If you like steak, the Yachtsman for dinner is fabulous, but I think you need to be a steak lover to get the most out of it.

I like steak but rarely order it when going out. My company reps some of the best beef producers including Creekstone, Snake River Farms and Matsusaka Wagyu so when I crave a steak I just grab something from work. The reviews look great for Yachtsman but it would feel like I wasn't taking advantage of what they do best.

I too would advise trying something else. I love getting to as many signiture restraints as I can. I really like Narcoosee’s at Grand Floridian. You may want to consider a Disney Springs spot as well if you can make it. No matter what you decide you are going to be eating well.

Boathouse was on my short list and I'm doing Morimoto one day for Lunch. Do you have a favorite in DS? Narcoossee's is an attractive option since I could potentially watch HEA from there. I've watched them in MK, CG and Poly but never GF.

I'd keep both. While in the same location dinner and brunch are such different experiences that I don't think you'll remotely feel like you are "repeating" anything.

That said if you want to give up one, dinner would definitely be it. We also love Narcoossee's (their scallop and shrimp pasta dishes are both a thing of beauty) and the fireworks view is great. You can also catch the water pageant which is fun.

I'd switch out dinner and go with the other PP's with the Artist Point recommendation. It was, hands-down, our best meal during our December trip (over Cali Grill dinner). If you aren't on the dining plan, consider going over to bluezoo at the Dolphin, arguably one of the best restaurants on property. We also really like Monsieur Paul in EP!

My Epcot day I plan on using my snack credits at F&W so really haven't considered a sit down there this trip.

Yeah, part of the fun for me is tweaking my plans. I'll read about something and think hey I want to do that then I'm juggling to rearrange. Funny thing is half the time I end up back to my original plans. Go figure.

DS would be a fun option, and from there I'd recommend either Morimoto or The Boathouse. We've had very good meals at both, most especially my favorite dish in DS--the buri bop at Morimoto. I'm generally not a fan of Signatures in parks as their quality rarely exceeds that of a middling restaurant. One of our worst Disney dining experiences occurred at Monsieur Paul, in fact. We did try Tiffin's and thought it quite good, and the bar area is nice, too, so that might be an exception. You're correct about AP being easy to get into--it's always been a hidden gem. However, as mentioned before, the hot rumor (which Disney has not dispelled) is that it is going to be a character meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While I don't mind the first two meals being characters, I would bitterly disappointed if they take away Signature dining at WL. That's why I suggested it might be an option before it closes. And, you can watch the fireworks and have an after dinner drink from Geyser Point which sits right on the lake. They pipe in music there, as well. Have fun tweaking your plans!

Seems like a waste of 2 credits for lunch when it's only $35. The fact that it's 2 courses instead of 3 is actually a bonus since that was going to be a light or no lunch day.

I'll keep my eyes on what's happening at AP. If it does in fact look like it will be a drastic dinner makeover I should probably enjoy it while I have the chance.

I wouldn't do two meals at the same restaurant unless you visit often which is sounds like you might. We have dined at California Grill for dinner and loved it; we will be trying their brunch this next time. We also have Flying Fish and Jiko booked for dinner. Enjoy!

It depends on your preferences! We have eaten at the same place twice in one trip multiple times. if you love it then I would leave it. especially since brunch and dinner are different experiences. otherwise i would have suggested Jiko or Flying fish but you are already doing those! I say keep them and enjoy!

You're correct--the buri bop is only for dinner. . .one of my favorite items in any Disney restaurant. As for GP and fireworks, I would say the view is going to be better than FW, though not as good as Narcossee's or CA Grill. I once saw the fireworks from along the old nature trail at the Lodge, halfway down toward FW, and it was a good spot. However, the distance and no music made them less spectacular, of course.

As much as I love CG, I also wouldn't do 2 meals there. My first thought was cancel the brunch (have never done it so I don't have anything to compare it to) and keep the dinner. However, keeping the brunch makes more sense. I would find a different evening meal.
You already have some of our favorites. Other options would be Il Mulino at the Swan or Monsieur Paul in France.

I love trying new restaurants. Food is a passion. I live to eat not eat to live and enjoy every new dining experience if done well.
