Would you repeat a DCL itinerary?

We've sailed the western, eastern and recently southern Caribbean itinerary on Fantasy. We love this ship and I personally can't wait to sail again. I am looking at a 2018 trip but it returns to ports we visited (and enjoyed) as recently as last month and 2016. Would you sail a similar itinerary so close together? I've read a few posts where people have and discover islands all over again. Full disclosure, we live in a dry state so while we love to explore at the end of the day we are beach people and would likely book those types of excursions again. Thanks for your time.

I don't see why not. I'll be repeating a mostly-the-same itinerary next year and I'm looking forward to it.

People continue revisiting WDW every year after all, seems like similar situations. I am sure you can always find something new to do.

Of course, if you didn't like it..maybe going back isn't a great idea... but doesn't seem to be the case here.

We've done a southern twice and will be doing it a third time this January so... yes? To be fair they have each had some of the same stops and a few new ones so it's not ALL the same, but close enough. We've done the Bahamian itinerary twice now (not by choice though) and I don't really plan to do it again.

I've sailed same itineraries again. There's always something that interested me that I didn't get to do. A second run affords me the opportunity to do more things! Like Cozumel. I've been to Cozumel several times and just discovered the "other side" of the island last November. What have I been doing with myself???? The "other side" is incredlble! I want to go back and explore it more!

I've sailed the same itineraries several times and had a wonderful time. As an avid scuba diver I always book a diving excursion (if available) and believe me no two dives are the same. If there are no diving excursions available for whatever reason I always find something I've didn't get to do or see the last time I was at that port. Hey, and you can never go wrong with just staying on the ship.

Absolutely...when we visit a port we've been to before, we try to take a different excursion to experience new things each time. We're not big on spending the day at the beach (after CC everything else seems so...); we love seeing the countryside, meeting the people, finding real local crafts. We can visit the same ports multiple times and each time is a new experience.

I am in Feb kind of just because it was the Eastern to St Maarten (fine but nothing I really need to go back for) and San Juan (meh - not a fan) on the Wonder vs. what to me is the equivalent of losing two days at sea on the Western on the Fantasy (one actual day lost because the Western has one less sea day and being a weird one who cannot stand anything Star Wars, I feel like I would be so limited as to what I could do and where I could go to avoid it, that essentially takes away another one from me).

I'm opting for the Wonder - getting my DCL Grand Slam and avoiding something I do not care for.

So same meh itinerary but different ship.

Sure! We've done it multiple times. I loved St. Maarten so much that I eventually took a trip and spent a week there and I would never have known that if I hadn't visited a few times on a cruise.

Yes, we are about to do our 4th Western Caribbean 2 on the Magic and 2 on the Fantasy, there may have been a new port once or twice.
We repeat usually when we sail out of Miami or port canaveral. We have probably done 3/4 Bahama cruises out of Miami. I love the ships, so I am ok with that.
When we fly to a DCL cruise, its usually a new itinerary all together. We are Flordians

Considering I prefer cruising on the Fantasy, I'm a resounding yes. I prefer the Eastern because of the extra sea day, but other than that, I'll cruise happily on the same itinerary every time. It's all about the boat and the Cast Members, not the ports for me.

With so few itineraries availalbe, it's hard NOT to. We do enjoy the Western itinerary better so try to avoid the Eastern. Unfortunately our upcoming DVC cruise is Eastern and for our Dream November cruise, we'll stay on the ship while in Nassau and on CC.

We have done the Western Caribbean (Cozumel, Costa Maya, and Grand Cayman) in 2013. We have also done it with Jamaica instead of Costa Maya last summer and will do that again next month. We have also been to Nassau many times but will do B2Bs on the Dream next summer. For us it's more about being on the ship and the cruise experience than the actual ports. The only port I really care about is Castaway Cay. Since weeks we can all travel together are limited between work and school, I choose the week that works best for us, with the best pricing and go from there.

We did the exact Alaska itinerary with DCL in 2011, 2013, and 2016, all in mid August. We absolutely loved it every single time and we would still do it again. There are always new things to see and do, and each trip is different and enjoyable in its own way!

We (meaning me as I am the resident travel agent and family vacation planner) rarely go back to the same city again. Las Vegas is one exception, but its always a new hotel, new restaurants, new shows. So, no, I would not repeat an itinerary, especially if it was one that we were paying for. I like to go to new places, see new things and try new things...but I am also the rare one that feels like one Disney Cruise was enough for us to experience what DCL offered on board and then move on to the next thing. My ultimate goal is to sell all of our belongings when we retire and RV full time from the North (Canada) all the way to the South (Argentina). We RV now...we are in our early 30's and have been to almost every State in the US, every providence in Canada, Mexico as well as a few places in South America. Life is too short to do the same thing twice. Hahaha!

I definitely do, and plan a different activity each time at same location. You can't see or do everything on an island in a few hours so repeating is a great way of experiencing more things.

I did but it wasn't as special as the first time. The third time it was getting a bit old.

But I'm the kind of person who will get bored doing the same thing twice.
