Would you recommend going to EMH at HS in August ?

I know everyone likes to go to the parks in the morning and then go back to the resort for an afternoon break then head back to the parks in the evening in August.

We plan on doing this because I know the temps can be terrible in middle of the day in August.

I also have read that going to HS is not a good idea because they have fewer rides than the other parks which still makes wait times long.

Anyone have any advice ? Should we do EMH in August ? Has anyone done EMH at HS in the summer ?

We ALWAYS do EMH in the morning at Animal Kingdom. If we, then we don't go there. AK is a half day for us and we always start out with the safari and end with Kali River Rapids.

That's probably a good idea because it seems like AK is way hotter in the summer than the other parks. It does to me anyway. :confused3

I think the OP is asking about Hollywood Studios, not Animal Kingdom. Are you asking about morning or evening EMH? We like Morning EMH with cooler temps and no competition from FP+ for easy touring. We can rarely stay up for evening EMH evening with our afternoon rest. Maybe someone who has done evening EMH at HS can help with that. I'm with you though on the tour in the morning and evening with an afternoon rest especially for our upcoming August trip.

We have done evening EMH in HS, but not in August. We are big fans of the evening EMH and have never really had an issue with crowds being crazy during that time. I would give it a try during August.

We typically don't visit in August, but here are our results from evening EMH last June (10 pm -midnight).

ToT 5x
RnR 3x
TSMM 2x

I felt that was 2 hours well spent.

We don't do mornings as we find the evening hours to be a much more efficient use of our time. Afternoons are for shows, dark rides, etc.

ALWAYS do morning EMH especially in August regardless of the specific park!

We have only done one August trip, but this definitely worked for us. There was a park with morning EMH every day of our trip, and we used it to our advantage every day.

But then we don't stay out late at night.

Wow that sounds like you had a lot of fun. I would say June is just as busy as August :thumbsup2 We prefer evening EMH also.

Does anyone else have any input on evening EMH at HS ? I'm getting close to making dining reservations and need to figure out my parks soon :crazy2:

We like to do evening EMH in August. I know they are not recommended, but we find it works for us. We usually do each park 2 days. For MK, Epcot, and HS we do one day without EMH and get there at rope drop. The other day we do evening EMH. Instead of taking a mid day break, we sleep a little later, relax at the resort, go for a morning swim, and arrive at the park around 1:00 and stay until it closes. it works for us, especially as the kids are getting older, it is harder to get them up early.

That sounds like a plan, the only thing I worry about is getting there midday is the weather being so hot. Do you have any trouble with the high temps in the middle of the day ? We have never been there in August.

I find it is so hot in August that the time of day doesn't matter to us. It is hot from morning til night! There are so many indoor attractions that it is easy to go in and out of the heat.

Ok thanks, I know when we went in May it was 90 and we were out in it in the middle of the day waiting in lines . It was hot but we didnt melt :teeth:

Evening EMH at DHS is the only time you can do the Disney Junior Dance party. If you have younger kids its a must do. Mickey and the gang are there to dance with the kids along with some other playhouse disney characters. There is also a DJ and a balloon artist. My kids love it. One of their favorite things to do.

We have done evening EMH at DHS in August several times. My son likes to ride the rides and we go back and forth riding RnRC and ToT over and over during that time. Not as easy to get on TSMM durning EMH. EMH ends at 10:30, so it isn't open too late.

Thanks :) We are still debating on doing it. I did look at historical crowd calendar for August 18th last year for EMH and it said it closed at 11:30. Are you sure it closed at 10:30 ?

I could be wrong. It may be 11:30. Anyone know for sure? Now I would like to know because we are going in August and plan on doing HS EMH one night while we are there.

I still cant decide if we should do it. I'm afraid it will be really crowded. When did you arrive when you went before ? We plan on arriving around 4:00. I know on the calendar at Disney's site it says 10:30 but on the crowd calendar for touring plans last year it says 11:30
