Would you rebook to save 33.77?

No, I definitely wouldn't for $33. Couldn't hurt to see if they'd match the price though.

I would not do it...

But I understand where you are coming from, I have contemplated returning items after I noticed they have gone on sale, but then I figure the time you need to invest to make the changes is not worth the "savings" .

DH and I are going back and forth. I can cancel my room though Disney and do the Orbitz deal for the same room for 33.77 cheaper. I imagine it being a hassel waiting for conformation not getting the building I requested etc. Would you cancel and rebook to save 33.77? I say no but hubby says yes. If it were over 50.00 I would but 33.77 is just a small savings....advice??? WWYD

Would Disney price match??

I agree with PP. The safest way to go is to stay with WDW travel and not rebook with Orbitz.:thumbsup2

Isn't Orbitz for a room only reservation? And are you already taking advantage of the Disney offered discounts for your dates? Do you have ADRs associated with your current reservation that will have to be rebooked if you cancel the current reservation?

Personally I would not bother going to that much trouble for what for me would be an insignificant savings but only you and your hubby know if that would be a significant savings for you.

The value of money is amazing. If someone were to ask if people would be willing to buy a regular sized Hershey chocolate bar for $34, everyone here would likely, and rightfully, say NO as you'd be paying $33 too much for it.

However, that same $33 somehow now becomes expendable because you are buying a bigger ticket item? That makes no sense.

Yes, rebook and save the money.

I try to avoid booking through 3rd party sites whenever possible. If there are problems with flights/hotels, it is much easier to get things fixed when I have control over the reservation.

No, I wouldn't re book either, for this reason. With Orbitz, Travelocity, etc you have no one to go to if there is a problem. If you booked with a TA you would, but not these sites.

exactly, the $30 is worth the peace of mind from booking thru Disney vs. one of those online sites. I've heard nothing but negative things about people booking through those sites.

I'd have to look VERY carefully at their cancellation policy to see how much I'd be out if something happens. From what I've heard, the 3rd party vendors are not very flexible about cancellations and/or any changes that you may unexpectedly need to make.

Also, I'm not sure how you're paying for the Disney reservation, but if you use the Disney visa for Disney rewards, you wouldn't be getting 2%, only 1% booking through someone else. That could lessen or eliminate the savings.

I'm all for saving money, but for that amount I personally wouldn't want to switch over to a 3rd party online site.

Saving $33 on a $3300 vacation is pennies. It does not compare to paying $34 for a $1 candy bar.

If you rebook to save 1% of your trip price then the same comparison would be asking if you would pay 1% more for a $1 candy bar.

Apples to Apples.

There is no way I would book through a third party travel company to save $33. That would be like booking through a travel agent. Once you book through them your reservation would no longer be your own and you would have to go through the agency you booked with to even discuss your reservation.

I accidentally used Travelocity once and will never use one of those places again because the booking with them was non-refundable.

I know ppl will probably ask how you accidentally book through Travelocity. I looked up the resort on my smart phone and the first link that came up looked to be the website of the actual resort. So I booked the room through that website. Nowhere on that page did they have the words Travelocity. It did have a big heading with the name of the resort on it as if it were the actual hotel's web page.

But when we decided we were going to cut our vacation short by 2 days the hotel told us they could not refund the last 2 days because we booked through Travelocity. Then Travelocity said I had actually booked through a booking "partner" of theirs, not actually Travelocity and then the "partner" agency said the nights were non-refundable.

I ended up getting refunded those last 2 nights but it was a big headache and a lot of hassle and dozens of phone calls later.

I have booked a car several times through Priceline but it did not have to be paid for at the time of booking and I could cancel at any time prior to picking up the car.

I would not personally ever book a Disney trip through anybody but Disney and I would only do it myself. No travel agent, no outside agency.

No, time is money and more stability booking through Disney and not a third party. Though, if you do decide to do it, you would not have to rebook ADRs, etc. as a previous poster said. That's totally separate.

Your post got me thinking. We have booked the Poly through Dreams Unlimited. After reading your post I decided to see if I could save anything by using one of the discount hotel sites (expedia, travelocity etc). I tried Expedia and initially found that they were listing the room $86 cheaper per night than DU. Which would have saved me substantially over a 7 night stay. However after doing a "dummy booking" the site then added the taxes and fees and the room was $20 more per night than I have with DU.

Even if it may not be worth re-booking to save the amount that you listed, I would say check a little further and you may find that you already have the best rate.

Hey, savings are savings. I've rebooked flights on southwest for $5 flight difference.

Those $5 add up- we just flew to WDW for "free" on those unused travel funds last week.

$33 is a couple rounds of drinks.

I say do it. I've had positive experiences with orbitz

I've used Orbitz many times and have never had a problem. There are no extra fees and canceling can be done right on their web site. I've done it several times and got my refund right away. Don't worry what anyone else thinks. Do what is right for you.

We cancelled our WDW room only res. Today And rebooked with Orbitz...but for our two rooms we were able to use the savings to upgrade to POFQ from POP, which was a big plus to us. The savings off rack rate at POFQ with the Orbitz deal for our dates was $500.

Good luck with whatever you do...for me $33 is not enough to rebook..
