early or stay late? If you knew you were going to have a busy day...would you rather start an hour or two early and hope to get out on time? Or would you rather go in at regular time and stay past quitting time to get the work done?

I vote early too. Love my evenings and I would just sit around in the morning waiting to go to work anyway.

I am NOT a morning person. I am such a night owl.

I would have no problem sleeping in and working a lil later. Actually, once upon a time I worked from 10a-7p instead of 8-5pm. It was great !

Same here. I find the morning hours more distracting because the office is coming alive. But by 5:30, most of my co-workers are gone. It's quiet, peaceful and so easy to really dig in and get things done.

stay late, I dont like my mornings messed with, its crucial for getting in the right mood for the rest of the day

I love going in early. I get in between 6 and 7 in the morning and I reilsh the quiet time. I am SO productive before everyone starts to arrive. I have a very chaotic job so anything that requires concentration I do before 8 a.m.

I don't mind the early hours and I usually stay late as well, but I find myself not concentrating in the evening because all I can think about is how I can't wait to leave. :hyper:

me too. Once it gets to 4:30 all I want to do is get the hell out of there:rotfl:

Early! Ever since I got punished by staying after school, I've had a phobia about staying late.:)

My office mate is like this. She goes in earlier and leaves at 4:30. She can not stay past 4:30. One time her DH was going to meet her nearby at 5:00 and she was going to wait in the office but she just couldn't do it. She lasted about 5 minutes before she decided to just go for a walk and maybe do some window shopping. LOL

Early..I always preferred the earliest times possible. My company had offices all of the world and IT had a lot of work outsourced so coming in at 4am meant I could catch the people in India at 4pm their time and I could be out the door by 2-3pm vs 6-7pm.

Early! It's quieter...nobody is in yet and you can get stuff done in peace and quiet (or without customers nagging). EVERYONE (usually) wants to go home on time.

me too!

Also, as a teacher I like to have everything laid out and ready for the next day before I leave in case of a last minute absence. However, I STILL manage to get swallowed up with daily details in the morning. Late in the afternoon I can concentrate on longer range projects.

To be honest, neither. I want to put in my 8 hours and leave, I'm still mad that they changed the law here so we HAVE to take a meal break, it's like being forced to stay an extra 30 minutes. But I go to work at 3 am normally, so going in early is REALLY going in early, and staying late has me working into my nap time.

I'd rather go in early. But, the boss always has us stay late.
