Would you rather go mid-March or mid-May?

We were planning on a Spring Break vacation March 10-15, but now my oldest is thinking she may not be able to go then. Another option is mid-May, right after both my college-aged kiddos graduate. We've never been to Orlando after March, so I'm curious about the weather. I'm thinking the crowd level may possibly be okay, because most schools won't be out yet. Anything else I should consider?

It will be hotter, but if you want to have a day at the resort or the water parks that can be nice. Personally I like mid May- but again it is getting hit by then.

Both aren't bad and pretty similar. I'd pick when the kids can join. I have 3 in college and know the difficulty in planning.

Oh goodness, 3!! Bless your heart! It really is difficult to plan around everyone's schedule. I just want us all to have a family vacation before they get tied down with jobs. And to celebrate not having college tuition payments for at least a couple years when my next one goes off to college! lol.

If you are up for the heat and humidity, May is very nice. There can be fierce, but usually brief, downpours or thunderstorms. Crowds are everywhere, most of the time now. However, I am wondering if this spring and summer might be a bit lighter than the past few years as folks may be delaying their plans in order to enjoy SWGE once it is open. JUst a theory, though!

The other factor that might sway me if it was my family trip is that your college soon-to-be grads will be really ready to celebrate right after finishing up. More so than knowing they were plunging into the last hectic weeks upon their return home.

Whatever the case, it is wonderful that you can look forward to this with your family and it will be magical, March or May.

I know for my family, DW and I would pick March 10/10 because we prefer the milder weather. She's a teacher so that means trips at Spring Break, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or the summer. We have flatly refused to go in the summer because we want to be comfortable and we already get to experience Texas summers. We actually went over almost those exact dates in March that you mentioned a few years ago and it was great. Flower and Garden Festival meant there was a lot of nice and new stuff to see in Epcot, plus all of the food carts, and even strolling by the amphitheater when some of the bands were playing was fun and just made of a slightly different experience. The crowds weren't bad at all then as apparently a lot of the country has later spring break, and the weather was great. Days were warm enough for a t-shirt and shorts/jeans depending on preference and evenings a light jacket was sometimes in order, but you weren't miserable without it, either. Plus we were on the standard DDP and we used those snack credits to great effect at the food stands in Epcot. Enjoy the trip.

We are heading down mid March.
When we've been in May, some days it was low 80s, other days high 90s.
That 10 degrees makes a huge difference for me! So we now opt for cooler months.

I’d go in May. Most kids still in school. I live in Southeast & schools generally end around May 23/24. It will be warmer, can even say hot. Already swimming in our area by then.

I think May will have fewer crowds, plus I know that my kids still have schoolwork to do over college spring break, plus they also like to catch up with friends who have the same break.

Mid to end of March is spring break time for all FL schools and it is always packed! Great weather though. May will be hot (but not summer humid hot yet) and it will be way less crowded. That is the time that most schools in FL will do their end of the year field trip to Disney. I would pick May for the smaller crowds.
