Would you rather go 1 day or not go at all?

We took the opportunity to go to Magic Kingdom 1 day during Easter week while we were vacationing in Cocoa Beach. Although it was wonderful to be there (and very crowded!) it almost feels sad to only go one day. We usually stay on-site or nearby and that just seems so much easier. Not that I don't appreciate that we could go, but it really was almost more difficult. So...would you rather go for one day to any park, or not go at all until you could stay longer?

I have had many very successful one day visits. Our family loves to visit Sanibel Island, and I can't be in FL without visiting the MK. So on 5 separate trips now we have made a one day stop in the Magic Kingdom. I love getting a little dose of Disney.

I have a great time, but since those are summer trips, one day is enough. I save our longer trips for when I can get there in cooler weather. For me, the value is not there for a longer trip in the heat.

Interesting. I never thought about it. We have done a few trips with only a one day trip to the parks. I think on those trips I know in advance that it's not a Disney trip so getting that one day in feels like a bonus.

I'd rather at least go one day. And one day trips are usually more memorable. I had one day trip last May and we ended up doing all four parks in one day. It was my favorite trip I've ever had because of how fast paced and fun it was.

Wow, good question I don't think I've ever thought about it before. I'm not sure how to answer it either. Part of me says one day is better than no days and part of me, like you, thinks it might just be too sad. I think since I'm a frequent visitor (twice a year) it might depend on if there there other things I really wanted to do on that one day. I might take that day and explore other Orlando attractions that I just never get a chance to do, maybe even go to the dark side.

I'd rather go, arrive at MK, ride the Haunted Mansion, leave, then fly home than not go at all. If you take money out of the equation, of course :)

I have done a number of 1 day visits to MK when in the area for business and when I had an active AP. Without the AP, I would not have done this - a one day ticket is too expensive.

I didn't think of it as a vacation - just a day of fun.

Life is short. Find ways to enjoy it when/where you can.

I don't have an AP, but I had an old ticket with a Day left. I turned it in 2011 to get a day of Magic after visiting a family member about to pass from Cancer. It was helpful for mom and I because it gave a release at the end of stressful trip.

Personally me to spend $125 for one day at MK during Easter Break and deal with the crowds would not be worth it IMHO. If I had an AP I might run in for a short amount of time. For me I don't enjoy Disney if its too crowded.

I used to travel to Orlando occasionally on business. I would work it out to be in the office on Monday and then fly in on Sunday morning and spend the day at Disney and drive downtown in the morning. Or be in the office at the end of the week, spend an extra day and then fly home. I paid for the room for the extra night, either cash or on points. I had to stay downtown the other nights for the company to pay for it. I did drive down in the evening once even though rush hour traffic on I-4 is a mess. I had an annual pass, so no ticket to worry about. I loved it!

I just did a Christmas party one trip. It was a mostly Universal trip, but I wanted just a "taste" of Disney. One night in the Magic Kingdom was perfect! Now, I have the opposite problem - I am going on a short trip to Disney in December, and I am a little sad that I won't get a "taste" of Universal.

We did the exact same thing as you and I felt the exact same way. It just seemed wrong only staying 1 night. Of course we got the best room ever right next to riverside mill food court. The one time we really needed to be closer to the parking lot because we were leaving the next morning. It just made me sad.

That being said I will always choose 1 day over none. Love my Disney world.

The first (only) time we had a one-day at the parks was our first time staying at Pop. It was only my sister, my dad and I because my sister and I were going to two concerts at House of Blues, and we were trying to make the trip as cheap as possible, so staying onsite made sense (also for transportation purposes since my dad wasn't going to the concerts).

I guess my dad felt off knowing that we were in Orlando and not doing Disney at all, so on the in-between day for the concerts, we decided to do MK. It only felt weird for reasons that would've otherwise not bothered me which were:
-My mom wasn't there. Although my sister and I basically ride with each other, it still felt weird being at WDW without her.
-It was Halloween time and we werent going to MNSSHP
-I spent so much time the night before on my feet at the concert that my back was killing me at MK, which kept me from riding some of the rides I would've otherwise ridden like BTMR. I didn't want to make things worse.

Except for maybe the MNSSHP, if my mom was there and my back hadn't been bothering me, one day would've felt fabulous. The three of us still had a great time though. My dad is so easy-going, it was really nice and relaxing day. Totally beat having a shopping day (which had been the original plan).

I actually enjoy scattered one day visits more than a full WDW vacation anymore. I have an open day in a little over two weeks during my Florida vacation, and just might opt for a MK or AK day.

I might lean towards no. 1 day ticket prices are so high that it would be hard for me to justify it. And with Easter being so busy I would probably feel rushed during that 1 day. Because we have been several times, and will be going again in the future, I might use that 1 free day to do something in the Orlando area that we wouldn't normally do, like Sea World or Legoland.

I vote not at all. I couldn't stand to be so tantalizingly close to the magic but not be able to touch it.

It would be like giving a heroin addict an empty syringe, lol.

The only thing my family ever did for years and years was one day at Disney while visiting extended family in Melbourne and Tampa. I think the sole exception was my senior year of high school, when we accompanied my dad on a business trip and we did two days: one at MK and one at Epcot. (This was three months before Disney opened MGM, though, so that gives you a rough idea of how long ago that was.) We never stayed on property, ever, until 2014.

I would definitely rather go one day than not at all. Disney day was always a highlight of our trips (though our days at Adventure Island were way, way up there in the rankings)!
