autograph a picture of himself?

Seriously, I live in Buffalo and I just saw an article in the Buffalo News online that he will be appearing at FrightWorld, which are haunted houses.

It costs $23 to tour 5 haunted houses and then for an additional $7 you can meet John and he'll autograph a picture of himself.

I can't stand it....I can't see why anyone would want an autographed picture of this guy...let alone have to pay for it. I can't see the picture becoming valuable for resale.

No, but I wouldn't pay for an autograph from anyone. I don't see the excitement in having someone sign their name on a piece of paper - unless they are writing a check to me!

Ok I stand corrected. The article I read was old. He was at Frightworld last night and he signed his name for free. His publicist said he's a family man who would not charge for his signature..he was paid a fee for his appearance by the owners of the haunted house though.

It just seems weird, where would they pull a number like $7 (so random) if it wasn't based from something?

I don't know that I would accept his autograph if he paid me $7.00.

Haven't liked him, or Kate for years. Well before his recent antics.

I would pay the extra $7.00 to NOT have to see him! Better marketing, for $23 you have to go to the location with John. For the extra $7 we have an alternate so you don't have to see him! :rotfl:

I'd pay $7 to give a good swift kick. ;)

I couldn't figure out why he would be appearing there...and I also would pay good money to smack him upside the head. Some friends of my daughters actually went to see him last night....thank god she is a smart girl and stayed home.

I read that he was appearing for some type of charity??????

Anyway, I'd pay $7.00 if he was siting on one of those dunk booths. Bet he'd make a lot of money for his charity with that one.

um. no. because he's not a celebrity..he hasn't DONE anything. He has a reality show, that doesn't make you a celebrity.

I have heard of athletes charging for their autographs. The thought of charging a little kid who idolizes you for your autograph makes me sick.

You were not charged at Frightworld for his autograph. His appearance fee was paid by the owners of the establishment. They have certain "celebrities" that appear at the venue each year. It is done for publicity. It was awkward at the beginning of the evening, but lightened up after a bit. Many celebs have been know to go into "character" in one of the 5 different houses.

I wouldn't even wait in line to get his autograph if it were free. I don't believe that Jon and/or Kate should be considered famous just because they popped out 6 kids at once.

Absolutely not!

But I did have half a mind to go down there and tell him what I think of him! I refrained from doing it though.

I'm an autograph collector and considered going, but I had other plans. I never watched the show, so I didn't feel like changing my plans.

I have paid (and would pay again) for an autograph. I don't expect people to explain why they buy designer shoes, or Precious Moments figurines, or knick-knacks from Disney World.

People have hobbies that they enjoy that other people aren't interested in. This is no different.

John would have to pay me way more than $7 to get photographic evidence of me anywhere near him.

A friend of mine was a very good major league baseball player in the '60's and early '70's. He goes to events where he is paid a fixed sum from the promoter to sign autographs for a certain length of time. He is usually with other players signing at sports shows or baseball card events.

A year or two ago he went to the "Field of Dreams"(Movie) place in Iowa to sign autographs.

..and that's awesome. Fans didn't have to pay for the autograph. Give it up though. Who is it?! :thumbsup2

JG on the other hand would have to pay me to take his autograph.
