Would you pack 9 people in a room for 9 at AKV?

With May 16th just around the corner, I'm stuck on what to do for our Easter reservation at AKV. Our party will consist of 7 teenage boys(two of them are our own kids), ranging in age from 16 - 18, me and DH. They are good kids and fun to be around, so driving me nuts isn't too much of an issue! Any advice on which arrangement you would choose?

Choice A) All nine of us in a 2 BR that sleeps nine. I am concerned that we will completely be in each other's way. We have the points to stay four nights this way.

Choice B) Split the group up into a 2 BR and a studio. Less crowded, but we only have the points to do this for 3 nights.

No matter which plan we choose at AKV, we will be moving on afterwards to the BWV for an additional 4 nights, where have a 2 BR and studio booked since we would be over the limit with 9 in our party.

So, extra night in crowded room:grouphug: , or lose a night and have more spaceparty: ?

The 2 bedrooms that sleep 9 are in the new building which isn't going to be available in 2008! Alternatively, you could go with only studio accomodations at AKV, maybe then, you can get the 4 nights, I don't know the point values.

Really? If that's the case, then I guess my dilemma has been solved! The website gave me the impression that rooms for 9 would be available right away, though they will be smaller than those the new section.
This is the info off the DVC website:

Most of the 2BRs in the Lodge building will sleep 9. Only the "value" villas are limited to 8 in a 2BR because they are smaller and will not have the sleeper chair in the living area. So.... you're back to your dilemma.

One thing that is different between the 2BRs in the Lodge and the 2BRs in Kidani Village is the number of bathrooms: the Lodge 2BRs will have 2 bathrooms, the Kidani Village 2BRs will have 3 bathrooms. Just wanted to be sure you knew about that in case it is a factor in your decision.

Teenage boys like to stay up late and sleep late in the morning. Does that impact your planning?

I'd lean toward packing them in, but that's to get an extra day!

i'd say go for it as long as you and DH retain the exclusive use of the Master bedoom. :)

7 boys!!! :scared1: You're scaring me.

We used to do a 2 bedroom when we only took TWO teenage boys. The thought of 7 and all their assorted "stuff" is overwhelming. I'd go for whatever gave me an extra bathroom.

I like to book a 2 bedroom for just the four of us!! and my kids are 7 and 14!!! I'm squirming at the thought of myself, my son age 7 and neice age 8 in a studio!!!

How about renting points or paying cash for a 3 bedroom villa??? More room, less stress!

I should clarify that the 2BR lockoffs in Kidani Village will have 3 bathrooms (2 in the 1BR portion, 1 in the studio). I don't know if the dedicated 2BRs are set up that way or not.

We have six of us when all of our kids go......and our last few trips we got a 2 bdrm for DH, myself, DD and DGS. Our two sons (one 25 and one 17) shared a studio a few doors down the hall. That way it gave us the best of both worlds......we weren't climbing over one another, but, yet had full kitchen and w/d for everyone to use. We just gave our sons the room key that was supposed to be our grandson's (he's only five) so they could access the 2 bdrm whenever.

I would go for more room!!!! I love to be in the World but my sanity of having enough room to spread out takes top priority for me!!!! The more room the better. I wouldn't be wanting to trip over all of their duffel bags!!
