Would You Move Your Kids?

Thanks everyone for the great responses. After talking it over and sleeping on it last night, DH and I have decided to put an offer in on the house in the back of neighborhood and make it our own. We don't want to put the kid's through such a major change and we know this neighborhood, we like it here, we have friends here and more importantly, the kid's have friends here. It just doesn't make sense to mess with a good thing - especially for the kid's sake.

Thanks so much for all of your honest answers. We really appreciate it!!!

P.S. If anyone wants a beautiful house on a lake in Georgia, I think I know where one is available. ;)

We moved at the end of school last year. DD just finished 1st grade. The reason for the move was to get into a top school district. The one we were in really wasn't good and we saw a lot of things that really concerned us.

We moved into a brand new development so everyone was getting to know eachother. That was a big help for DD to make friends and get adjusted before school started.

She loves her new school and has made lots of wonderful friends. We're really happy that we made this decision.

Now, all that being said DD has had some difficult moments. She had to say goodbye to the only home she had ever known and to lots of school friends that she no longer sees. We do get together with some neighborhood friends but we don't know her school friends parents so we haven't kept in touch.

Personally, we wouldn't have moved just for a nicer/bigger house. We have no intention of moving again until DD is at least through HS.

Thanks CEDmom and everyone! We would be going to a better elementary school district by moving but our current middle and high school are tops (and so are the other neighborhoods).

Still, we don't want the kids to have to change and we have put the contract on the house in the back of our neighborhood and are waiting to hear. We are keeping our fingers crossed!!!
