Would you mind if your local beach allowed topless sunbathing?

I think a lot of people are assuming that the topless beaches would contain people you would maybe want to see topless-in my experience with them the opposite is true .

I wouldn't mind at all. It would definitely not be a family beach, but I don't see any problem with it.

I would not mind. And, I don't see where it would be any less family friendly. IMHO

This is true. Where topless sunbathing is common women of all ages do it, so along with the skinny 20 somethings be prepared for some saggy, crepey, fed a few kids ****s.

I'm sure there are a lot of parents who would prefer their children to not see that. Different religious beliefs for whatever if may be, I'm just saying that there will probably be a drop in the number of families going to that beach.

I didn't grow up going to topless beaches, so I would not feel comfortable going to one. I would not take my kids to one either. However, I don't have a problem with topless beaches existing and people going to them.

This is the truth. I remember being a teenage guy and thinking nudist colonies must be the greatest places on Earth. I then learned that it's not all 20-25 year olds running around those places. D'oh!

I agree regarding Asbury Park. The last time I was through there it was a completely run-down ghost town. I remember going there when I was a kid and it was a great place. I think they're grasping at straws trying to draw tourists at this point.

Bingo - Asbury literally defines the tired, declining element of the Atlantic seashore. Having topless women there will only result in dragging it down further (it will draw all sorts of wonderful new market segments....like biker gangs). And notice that the desireable sections of New Jersey shorefront real estate like Spring Lake aren't having to stoop to this.

do families even go to Asbury Park?? I do not go to Asbury Park now so it is no big deal to me if they made it topless. Sandy Hook has the nude beach. Only difference is you cannot see that one unless you go onto the beach.

The only problem with having a topless beach in Asbury Park is that my husband will want to go.

Asbury Park was poised to make a comeback, but then the Depression of 2008 hit. Lots of property was bought in the early 2000's by creative and artistic people--or at least that's what a creative and artistic guy I'm close to says. Topless beaches would appeal to Bohemian types.

The NJ shore is loved by thousands of people, so I think that eventually, Asbury Park will turn itself around, but when and how is anybody's guess.

I firmly believe that anywhere a man can go topless, a woman should be allowed to also. The hyper sexualization in North America is silly. What makes my nipples so shocking anyway? And if they are shocking or offensive, then why aren't a mans? Or is it the extra breast tissue that is the big deal? Because plenty of men have that, too. I honestly don't see what the big deal is or why this is even an issue.

Now, along with equal rights to go topless, I also think that unless you're at a beach, everyone should keep their shirts on. I hate seeing topless, sweaty men walking down the street and can't say I'd like it any better if there were breasts involved. Have some class, and keep your clothes on!
