Would you love a big and long water slide at Castaway Cay?

I just LOVE water slides, of all types. The longer and higher the better. I would just love it if they would add one big fun or maybe even two slides at Castaway Cay. Wouldn't that be a blast? :)

That sounds like fun. I wish they would have asked if we had suggestions for the island but thats a good one I hadn't thought of. I am crazy for slides and to think they only allow kids to use the one on the ship...GEEZ!

I would just love to see a tastefully, tropically themed pool, lazy river & slides etc - but nothing like the scale of the Disney waterparks though...more like the resort pools.

It would make up for the baths, sorry tiny pools, they have on the ship ! :cloud9:

I personally would not use it, but I am sure there would be a long line of people who would. ;)

My kids would love it. So would I. I don't miss the fact that there isn't one there though. I like the serenity on CC. It's a nice winding down day before we resume normal life.

I would also LOVE to see a big waterslide on CC. Heck, there wouldn't be any shore excursions for me, my day would be spent on the slide...LOL...
It does stink that the slide on the ship are for little mates only!

Aren't there tides at CC?

It would take some major redesign of the island to build an area sheltered from the tides so the slide could always be accessable when we were there.

I'm in the minority I guess ... don't want to see a water slide on CC :)

Tides in the Bahamas are very small - I think they only max about 1 meter.

I am not one in favor of a water slide. I think it would mess up the view of the skyline and would stick out like a sore thumb when trying to take pictures. Then again, if the lines waiting to use the slides cleared off a few hammocks, then I am all for it.

A water slide sounds like fun! I don't know how much I would like sliding into salt water though. What would really be great is a lazy river onboard. However, that it a little extreme... :rotfl2:

A nice big tropical themed pool would be nice. Im not keen swimming in the sea, I dont like the salt.

If people want huge water park type attractions and no salt water, why don't they just stay at WDW? The whole point of a cruise is to enjoy the sea and areas that haven't been heavily developed!! :rolleyes1

Or to put it in the gracious words of Joni Mitchell:

"Don't it always seem to go
That you dont know what you've got
'till its gone
They paved paradise
And put up a parking lot"

Hi,

I have to agree with jdbybnsn. I hate to see the scenery of Castaway Cay change too much. It's so beautiful as it is.

Another no vote. It would ruin the tropical, rustic setting.

No pool or waterslide - it would never be the same.

With all that I'd probably just stay on the ship. CC wouldn't be special anymore, it would be just like every place else.

Come on, it's just ridiculous to say that "The whole point of the cruise is...." I looked all over and couldn't find a definition of cruise which stated that was the point. A pool slide is not necessarily a "huge water park attraction" and I'm sure my kids would absolutely love having a nice water slide at CC...maybe something reasonable in size and well themed like at the Poly resort or Coronado Springs. Your comment about "why don't they just stay at WDW" makes about as much sense as saying "If people want big production stage shows why don't they just stay at WDW?".

The point of a cruise is having a great vacation and the main focus for everyone may have nothing to do with enjoying the sea or areas that haven't been heavily developed. I know people who have gone on cruises and never set foot in salt water and they've still had a great time. I hope next years cruisers aren't missing "the point" when they enjoy heavily developed places like Barcelona and Rome.
