Just a Life Pro Tip, if it's a place that doesn't require a physical card, but allows you to enter a phone number, 9 times out of 10, the local area code + 867-5309 will work! I've tried it in a few different stores and states and it always works!

Now Jenny is mad that Twizzlers are on her purchase history.![]()
Hey! You don't know the reasons why some people are still posting. Maybe they are late risers. Or they finally got a break at work so they are checking on the DIS. Maybe they had to research who the OP was and read her old threads to see if this was some type of pattern. Point is you just DON"T know why, but more importantly, why do you even care?

What is the big fricking deal??? It's a stupid plastic card that entitles you to a discount on an item. It is not a credit card, it is not attached to your social security number or any type of monetary account, you are not obligated to use it, it does not any personal information on it..... I'm just so confused why anyone would NOT share it!!
Or they had to hack into their stores server and make sure there weren't any rogue Twizzler purchases on their history.
Priorities please!
Indeed! One can never be too careful. A spotless Kroger's reward card record is something to protect and treasure!!![]()
Wow. I haven't had a physical loyalty card in more than 7 years! I always just type my number. The only reason I can imagine them caring is if people were racking up gas discounts as mentioned before.About a year ago the local Shop Rite got really strict about the use of their loyalty cards. No lending to the person ahead of you in line, no keying in your phone number if you forgot yours, etc.

OP here. Fell asleep at page 2, woke up at page 9. I am really amazed at the responses.
I do appreciate them. I never really considered the other side of my request and the idea that it might be considered rude. That is part of the reason I asked where you were from.
I tried to get across that I always lend mine and have been asked where we live. It is common and some stores the cashier does run it for you.
A few people responded from the area we were traveling through and said they would offer their card but would not ask.
The reason for the 50cents is I had 2 singles and a fifty dollar bill. With the discount I could use the singles without it I used the fifty. Not a big deal, I know but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask.
I do want to clear one thing up though. I would never ask a mom with 3 kids, fumbling with their keys etc for the savings. I remember being there and the stress to remember everything, get shopping done as quick as possible.
I promise the person I asked was not rushing, had not put away all her stuff and would not have been inconvenienced.
Lastly, I will now carry some small sample size lipsticks in my purse for those in need.Cause hey - you never know!
