Would you leave your child overnight to get a tattoo?

Wow. Your in-laws won't take your suggestions.

You've TOLD them that their Doctor is wrong.

TOLD THEM TOLD THEM TOLD THEM!!!!!!!!

Really call CPS and report "I'd like to report my sister in law for abuse because I disagree with the licensed medical professional they've chosen to treat my niece's illness and they keep listening to that Doctor instead of me. Plus, they choose to get tattoos instead of saving for a Disney vacation AND my Mother In Law likes them better than me."

That should be fun for you.

As for the question - if an ear infection meets your definition of "severely ill" then yes, I have left my child in the care of somebody else when he was "severely ill."

:thumbsup2

Right because to CPS as long as they are feed and clothed and not bruised they can't be bothered. There are too many other kids rally suffering to care about kids who are only mildly being affected.

And knowing that you still call CPS? Your niece and nephew are fed, not walking around in tattered clothing and not being beaten and you are taking time away from CPS because you
don't think that the kids are taken care of when clearly they are. If you have a problem with your in-laws you can always unfriend them.

CPS doesn't step in trust me I have made several reports and your child doesn't get taken away. The actions of my SIL would lead to nothing more than a interview. There are many more cases on the CPS radar that need urgent attention.

I don't understand people having kids and pawning them off on other people. Don't have them if you aren't willing to commit to them.

Also I am better than them. I don't need to prove it Rita, facts are facts. Also shes to much of an attention____ not to put everything on Facebook. So we just pretty much make fun of it here because she is just so pathetic. You can't complain that you need sleep and the kids need to be quiet the day after you go on a drinking binge with your sister.

My post had nothing to do with meeting my standards. I knew they didn't the minute I meet them. As everyone that encounters DH and finds out about his family, mainly his brother, they ask how did he turn out so well he always shrugs and says he ignored the crap and realized his parents really didn't care about him.

Wow. You are better than them? How so? By whose standards? and if you really called CPS on them, you are amazing.

Oh let me clarify:
My SIL went out and got a tattoo then stayed home and drank with her friends. My BIL who stayed around for a bit left at 4 to go get his tattoo and then went home to do I don't know what.

My MIl was watching the kids she was also throwing a party at the house and it was loud, not many people and three were other kids there, including mine, but not a environment a sick kid should be in.

I'm not sure why BIL couldn't keep his kid at home since he is unemployed through the winter and chooses to not find a job so why not keep your sick baby girl at home with you and send you healthy son over to play and hang with other kids.

I just needed to vent because i have suggested time and time again that she see another doctor and the fact that the child had to be rushed to the hospital because she stopped breathing and they NEVER looked into it further bother me. I've been quiet about it. Like I said I hate to see sick kids especially when there is no need. Every weekend for the last month those kids have been at my in laws they enable them to be bad parents. They can't handle having two kids around them. She is constantly posting "ugh I need sleep these kids are driving me crazy" on Facebook. She's very young and not worldly at all and I have to keep in perspective that she was not allowed some of the advantages that many of us were so she is pretty young and stupid for lack of a better word. Yes, at 24 all I did was party with my girlfriends and drink but I had finished college and was kid-less so there were no responsibilities KWIM. She should have thought about that BEFORE getting pregnant and then getting married and then having another child.

My MIL enables her and THAT pisses me off too! I know I can't change any of this and it just sucks that my niece and nephew suffer for it and the MIL thinks SIL is some amazing person and can't see she isn't. Also pisses me off that she said she can't save for a Disney vacation for her kids but she can afford tattoos every few months? What the HECK!
What does being "worldly" have to do with it? Doesn't sound like you are too worldly at all but rather pretty jealous....

Your obsession with proving that you are superior to these people is way beyond the norm. Your anger at your MIL for not "taking your side" for whatever reason is just so far out there it is rather scary.

Frankly, if you were my Sister in Law you wouldn't have a clue about anything that went on in our lives because I would have issued a gag order on all concerned long, long ago. It wouldn't surprise me in the least to discover your in-laws have done exactly that.

You don't like them. They don't meet your standards. We get it.
Exactly. :thumbsup2

Nice. With family like you; who needs enemies? Did the thought ever occur to you that not all foster homes are great? That the children might actually be better off at home than in the "system"...that the reason the children have not been taken away is there is no true abuse and neglect going on? Time to hop down off your high horse and stop judging these people.

Wait...she complains about her kids on Facebook?! How dare she!

Seriously, myob. I think you are looking for something to gripe about in terms of your SIL. Also maybe they just didn't want to go on the vacation and needed to make up an excuse.

Your obsession with proving that you are superior to these people is way beyond the norm. Your anger at your MIL for not "taking your side" for whatever reason is just so far out there it is rather scary.

Wow how pompous and arrogant are you? do yourself, your in-laws and us a favor and unfriend your husbands family.

I truly feel sorry for your husband. He must have to listen to you rant and rave about how awful his family is every single day.

What does being "worldly" have to do with it? Doesn't sound like you are too worldly at all but rather pretty jealous....

Agree with all these, plus I'd like to add, I sure would love to see the tattoo. Must be a pretty sweet one!

oh i'm sorry did you think i meant i called on them? No i've made reports on neighbors and such. Not them. The hospital did, not me.

Seriously?
You've made numerous reports to CPS on neighbors and such?

Wow - you are just surrounded by unworthy parents, aren't ya? And sadly, CPS never finds any validity in your claims to take action. That is a puzzler. :sad2:

I've never even made one report. Much less several.

But then again, I'm one of those who left my kid with an ear infection with a babysitter and a bottle of the pink antibiotic. I obviously have really low parenting standards.

You really don't understand CPS.

I wouldnt leave my child who had more than an ear infection. It wasn't JUST an ear infection.

I never said i called on them that was your assumption. You wanna hate me go ahead but don't say i said something I didn't.

I have filed several 51As because I am a mandated reporter. If I even hear a kid in the grocery store get yelled at I have to report but I know the system enough to know what gets done and what doesn't.

No one here will agree with me because its taboo but bottom line is that it was irresponsible. I needed to vent. Done and over. Carry on.

You're a mandated reporter? and you "have to report" if a kid is yelled at in the grocery store? That's very interesting.

That is the biggest load ever. How exactly do you report a kid being yelled at if you have no idea who they are?

I think you overestimate your importance in people's lives.

Stop making sense, it ruins the story.:)

Isn't it interesting that she has to report a kid being yelled at in the grocery story but with all the terrible stories that she has told on this site about the inlaws, she has never been mandated to report them? The things that make you go "hmmmmmm...".
