Do you Pixie Dust?

In another thread, AquaDame mentioned pixie dusting some of her Disney pins. I think that's a great idea -- now that we don't wear lanyards much anymore, I have a bunch of pins I'll probably never use again. I'll keep the ones that are special to me, but I think I may get rid of the rest on our next trip. I was thinking of giving the pins to kids, but there may be adults who might like to have them as well, so I'm not sure how I'll go about this.

In the past, we've Pixie Dusted random kids in the parks. I've done this by finding Disney-related items at the dollar store. We've pixie dusted stickers, bubbles and glow bracelets, don't remember what else. (Note: When giving things to kids, we always ask the parents, not the kids.) It used to be fun to pixie dust Fast Passes we couldn't use, but those days are long gone. I guess theoretically this could still be done but it would be much more difficult.

Do you pixie dust? If so, what kind of items, and who do you pixie dust? Have you ever had a negative experience when trying to pixie dust someone? I haven't, but just wondering.
The last trip my husband (soon to be EX unfortunately) and I took with our god-daughter I took 5 full lanyards of pins and a bag full and gave them out. I always asked the parent's first so I didn't look like a bad person, and man was it so much fun! And it cleaned out a big space in my extra room!

My sister and I once did what I guess you might call pixie dusting. We were having a bite to eat in the Craftsman Bar at GCH. There was an older woman sitting alone at a table nearby. She didn't seem unhappy, but after some time with no one joining her we asked her if she'd like to join us. She was so pleased and we had a wonderful time together. Turned out she lived near our mom, and we exchanged numbers. She also belonged to the same women's club as my mom and sis, and she was an avid knitter like me. We stayed in touch for quite a long time until we learned from her daughter that she passed away. We made a great friend that day.

That reminds me of something I did at WDW a while back. I didn't think of it as "pixie dusting" but it kind of was. This was when Trader Sam's had first opened over there and I wanted a Nautilus mug. I didn't want to drink it, I just wanted the mug - totally willing to pay full price. The server said that if I order it he has to pour it - still not sure why, but whatever. It seemed like such a waste, so I asked him to go see if this other table wanted a $65 bowl of liquor, on me. 🤣 They did, but then they waved me over to come sit with them. We hung out a while and they were off-duty CM's. We had a fun time and the next day I had a few extra anytime FP's in my account somehow, so the pixie dust made it full circle. I got my Nautilus and everyone was happy.

I have a fun story that happened quite a while ago at Epcot. It was on Valentine's Day.We both needed to rent ECV's because of all the walking at Epcot. We did okay at the other parks with frequent rests, but knew we couldn't make it at Epcot. So,, we went to the counter and asked the CM for 2 ECV's. She got a Big smile on her face and said "I"ll be right back" and rushed into the back. She came out with a BIG grin on her face and said that since we were the first couple on Valentines Day we would get decorated scooters. She then brought out the first scooter and it was covered with hearts and frills, streamers, etc. The front of it had a Big red heart on it. It also had a big heart Valentines mushy balloon on it. My husband looked shocked, so I said it was probably mine. Nope, the other one was even more decorated with another balloon. I thought my husband would die of embarrassment on having to ride those scooters. The CM was so happy and thought she did us a favor. She also took our picture to put up. My husband was so embarrassed but I thought it was hilarious. I couldn't stop laughing and smiling at my poor husband. He did not want to ride that overly decorated scooter but he did.
Well, everywhere we went people said hi and smiled at us. I have never seen an ECV move as fast as my husbands, lol. He zoomed around the whole place. I was having a blast waving and smiling at people and enjoying it. On the way back to drop them I saw a Mom with a little girl. I asked if her little princess would like a balloon. The little girl was very happy with that balloon. My husband was giving his balloon away too to another little girl who loved it.
So, long story but a funny one. We did give pixey dust to the little girls, and at least I enjoyed our Valentines Day Pixie dust.

Funny how sometimes things we initially find embarrassing end up being some of the best memories! I bet your husband will remember that day for a LONG time!
Yes, it was hilarious but only to me, LOL. He Does remember that ECV. It's hard to forget. I didn't have a cell phone at that time and didn't have my camera with me or I would have taken pictures. What was so funny was that the lady at the counter was beside herself with happiness that we were the first couple of the day:) And we tried not to look too shocked about it:)
