Would you go?

So I just realized a local small airline goes to Orlando on Thursday - arriving at 6.30 pm and leaves Sunday at 4.20 pm. The tickets are inexpensive and this would give us (me, DH, and two toddlers) maybe a resort dinner on Thursday- parks all day Fri and Sat- and then a half day Sunday to maybe swim or go to DTD.

I kind of think it would be fun to go in OCT for MNSSHP or Dec. for the MK Christmas party. I have a PIN so I could get free dining or 30% of a resort. I was thinking either stay at a Moderate with free dining or a deluxe club with the 30% off.

I would love to hear opinions on what you would do if you just had 2 full days and about 2 half days.

We have actually started only doing short trips, and doing more of them (even though we live 1500 miles away). For a while we really liked the whole week-long vacation, but would only do it every 2-3 years.

Now we have started planning 2-3 short trips each year. (In fairness, I do have family in south FL that we visit every year anyway, might as well make use of the airfare!)

I really like it though! Just enough Disney to get your "fix" but a lot less stressful and overwhelming than a whole week. And just about the time that the fatigue is starting to set it, it's time to go home anyway ;)

We are doing something very similar in October - flying in Thursday night and leaving Saturday, just to go to MNSSHP on Friday night. So YES, definitely do it if you can!!

The short trip is our preferred trip. We bought 10-day NE tickets a while ago, and use a day or two every trip combined with the water parks, or a hard ticket event. We have done the week long trip, and they are just too much for us...

Is your PIN good even for a 3night 4 day? Some deals are only for 5night 6day. I have done 3night 4day before (no kids) and loved it. There was plenty of time to see my favorite attractions and visit all 4 parks. I usually skip DTD and resort swimming on short trips but that's just preference.

I called and double checked and they are okay with min. 3 nights and a 2 day park ticket even though it says min. 5 nights. I would skip DTD and swimming too but the kids love the Lego store and DH loves the pool- this is when I start thinking solo trip by I digress...

That's exactly what we did too! Definitely recommend the NE tickets if you think you might make several short trips over the next few years, you will come out way ahead. And it's not much more to add on the WPs, so you also have 10 visits there.

What airport would you fly into? If you're flying into Sanford, you'll either need to rent a car or pay around $200 plus tip for a car service.

Yes- it goes into the smaller airport. I found one service that will pick us up with car seats for the kids and take us to the grocery store if we want for $200 round trip- that includes tip.

I would rather take the Disney transport but at least this way we don't have to stand in any lines and we could be on our way quicker.

Good news about the pin still applying. Even if you add in a trip to the Lego store and pool I still think you will have a fun time. Since your flight leaves later maybe you could to DTD the morning of your last day? The pool could serve as an afternoon break from the parks.

My husband and I go for every three day weekend during the year. We live in the Atlanta area so we can drive. We get about a day and a half each time.

Is it worth it? Heck yes! Why? Because we aren't in the real world. We are away from things that have a stress on our daily lives. No work, no home, no family except us. After 32 years of marriage, having a day and a half at Disney World and appreciating just each other is something that has made those 32 years possible. Enjoy!
