Would you go to VB first or WDW first?

I am trying to plan our late July/early Aug. trip. I can do whatever but was wondering if anyone does this split and how they do it. Thanks

We do the split vacation about every other year. We like to go to WDW first and then VB. We enjoy the calm after the rush of WDW. VB is so laid back and quiet that you can relax after a mad few day in the parks. Hope you have a great vacation and it is not too hot!

In December we did 4 nights at WDW followed by 2 nights at Vero. I really enjoyed being able to unwind at Vero following our WDW trip.

Tough call -- the obvious is what Merilyn suggests. Recharge at Vero. I've done that but found that Vero seems somewhat "boring" after having so much happening at WDW and doesn't "shine". If I go to Vero first, I truly enjoy and appreciate it and don't suffer from post-WDW syndrome! Of course, this means I go home from WDW pretty dang tired!

Thanks. It will be hot and yes we prefer the weather in Jan. or Nov. but the Thanksgiving Crowds are getting to be just too much and our Jan. trip is really short so if we want to go longer and enjoy the water parks/pools then we have to go in the summer because of high school, middle and elementary kiddos.

I prefer Vero first and then WDW since I want the build up to WDW and leave the vacation on a high note.

Until this upcoming June trip, we have always done VB after WDW. We liked to relax there. In June we have a BC, and the weekend points were out of site for our budget, so we're doing VB first for 3 nights and then 3 nights VWL!

We have only done WDW then VB. I think I'm going to stick with that order. I think if we went to VB first we would never relax because we would be anticipating going to WDW and all the energy that entails. Last time and this year we will be flying into MCO and doing a few days at WDW (and SW/KSC this year) then going to the beach!:beach:

We've actually done it both ways...For some reason, we seem to prefer doing Vero first and WDW afterwards...I don't THINK that is because Vero is our home resort! We bought at Vero first because the points were more "affordable" (yes, I know the dues are higher but I just don't care) and because we really do want to spend some of our DVC time there, but we also love WDW! We are NOT the type to just lie on the beach, but we like to watch the sunrises and walk in the sand at dawn, then go and hang out at the various treasure museums and such, drive up and down the coast, etc. I think it just gets us in the vacation "mood" or something...then when we've unwound for a couple of days we're ready to go "commando" at WDW. Granted, after a few trips we're not as vigorous about it as we used to be, but maybe because we are fairly early risers and don't change our sleep schedules much on vacation, we NEED a little R&R before we hit the parks. Anyway, it works for us!:)

How long is your trip? We often go for two weeks and put Vero in the middle. We'll spend 5 days at WDW, then 3 at Vero and then follow up with 5 more days at WDW. Maybe that is an option.

We do Vero first. It really helps us unwind from work and the hectic "get ready" to travel. We get chilled out just relaxing at Vero for a few days, then we are ready to go to WDW for some fun!

We did Vero first last year and then WDW... We LOVED IT.. It was so nice enjoying the beach and pool in anticipation of WDW.. Plus once we arrived at WDW we didn't feel the need to swim every afternoon since we just had 4 days prior to WDW.. It was great. I like leaving on the WDW buzz too.

Interesting....we are going for about 10 days total proabably for this trip. We are also toying around the idea of doing Universal and staying at one of their hotels for 2 or 3 days. I have to figure this all out don't I?? LOL

I have always wanted to do both WDW and VB, but after 10 years in DVC, still haven't done that. When we do I think we would go to VB after WDW for many of the same reasons already stated here. :thumbsup2

We did go to VB and the Disney Cruise once back to back with VB first. We got bored at VB after just a short stay and it could have been due to the anticipation of the cruise. If we ever do that again I will cruise first. :sail:
