Would you go see the same band twice in the same week?

So my favorite band of all time is playing three shows in NYC (where I live) this week. I went last night, it was amazing! It was my first time seeing them and it felt almost like a highlight of my life.

I am free again tomorrow night and am seriously considering going again. I don't think they'll be back for a while, and I think they will vary the set list a bit..but some of my friends are telling me that I am crazy for wanting to go again! I am a frequent "repeat visitor" to things- I once saw the Broadway show American Idiot twice in one day!

I feel like in a board full of repeat visitors to the same vacation destination, others might have the same attitude as me- but would you go see the same band twice in one week? Have you ever done anything like that?

Garth Brooks was here last summer and I definitely would have seen him twice.

If you can justify the cost, why not? I went to two Springsteen concerts in the same week, and they were different (he always does that). Not much overlap in the set list. With a catalog as deep as his, this is possible. Some artists, however, are known for delivering the same show night after night on a tour....if it were that, I couldn't justify the expense.

I've done it a few times back in the day.

Saw David Bowie three of the four nights he played in Philly back in the early 90's. Mostly the same set each night, but with a few different extras thrown in.

Patti Smith Group one night at the Tower in Philly and a few nights later in New York.

Rush twice on the same tour, but it was about a month between shows.

I've been looking at the set lists for the whole tour and it seems like they'll do about 3/4 of the songs the same, but then add a few different ones. Seems worth it to me! And it's not expensive, they aren't like a super well known band or anything.

Yup. I've done it a few times. Saw a band on a Wednesday night with my boyfriend at the time, saw them on Friday night with my sister. They are my favorite band, so anytime they are remotely local I look for any show I could go to.

If my favorite band did it, then I would be there for sure!

My oldest DD just did this, three nights in a row. Saw the band here, drove out to Anaheim the next day and LA the next. She returned with no voice but had a blast.

There are a few bands I'd to this for.

thanks for the words of confidence everyone! I bought a ticket :)

Enjoy! There have been a few times where I've seen a performer in concert and left the venue thinking "I HAVE TO DO THAT AGAIN!!!" and gone back the next night, or a later date on the same tour. A sign of a great performance!

Yup! Years ago, my favorite singer played four shows in two nights (all at the same venue), and I was there for all of them.
