Now before you think the wrong thing ;) I love my husband very much and have no plans of ever leaving. :D That being said, if you ever found yourself alone for whatever reason, would you marry again?

I would not.

No, I would not want to. It just isn't for me I don't think.

I guess it would depend on why I found myself single again. I don't think I can answer that, honestly.

My DH has made me promise that I would get married again if I found someone else to love, but I can't even imagine living without him.

I can't answer.

Definitely!! The best thing my ex-husband ever did for me was leave. He has given me a second chance at life!

I love my DH...so not ever planning on it. But yes, I could remarry (that is..if someone would have me!LOL!) For me, I need the companionship and love. However, it would not be easy..I am 27 and have been with DH for over 10 years. We never even broke up...so after I got over whatever happened (death or whatever) I would NEVER know where to begin!

I was married in a terrible situation I did not really want to be in for about a month in my early 20s.

Never again. I am not religious, can not have children (and do not really want children, although I do love kids!) and have no need for a traditional marriage.

DBF and I have been together now for years and we plan to stay together, unmarried, for many, many more. We're happy this way.

To respond to my response

If DBF were suddenly not in my life, for whatever reason, yes, eventually, I would probably seek a similiar situation to what he and I have now.

But here's hoping that never happens.

Not that I don't love my husband but I just would not want the aggravation of having another partner. Maybe I would change my mind after living alone for about 40 years but marriage is enough one time around.

Well I can't say for sure, I think I probably would.

I've also picked out the wife for DH should I meet my untimely death before my kids are grown. Its someone I think would be a great step mother to my kids and a good wife to DH. He of course is mortified at the very though, since he doesn't really like her in that way. I told him he'd learn to like her. :p

You took the Words right out of my Mouth!!!!

The best part about NOT being Married anymore for me is that NO ONe Asks me : " Did any one call?" Where's the Mail?" :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Well let's see.. My first marriage lasted 9 years.. I hesitated and hemmed and hawed for 2 and 1/2 years before I married my present husband.. I've been married for 26 years this second time around and can't even imagine being married to anyone else..

Of course I'm a bit older than most of you - 54 - and if my DH were to pass tomorrow, that would leave me being a widow for a long, long time - but I still don't think I would remarry.. I've always been one who functions well on my own - I enjoy my own company - and I'm not afraid to do whatever I want alone - so I don't think it would be something I would view as "necessary"..

Course if some wonderfully handsome, filthy rich man were to come along and sweep me off my feet, I "might" be persuaded - LOL....

LOL! I think that is one of the funniest things I have ever heard!! :teeth:

Hmmm....

I think it would depend on what point of my life this would be happening.

If I were young, then why not? If I was set in my ways and there was any kind of cheating in the previous relationship, then no way.

That is an interesting question. My first marriage lasted 27 years ( 30 before the divorce was final ) Had anyone asked me during that marriage, I would have said an unequivocal NO. I absolutely believed marriage was forever........kept right on believing that until he got caught cheating (again). I had hung in there so long, I actually had bought into the nonsense that I did not deserve better. I spent a great 6 years on my own, getting to know myself. And met the love of my life most unexpectedly when I was over 50 years old.

So, I would probably say no to the question again today, but only because I have no expectations of being so lucky again. And since I married someone 6 years younger than I, there is a reasonably good chance I might not outlast him

I married the first time for love (my current hubby). If something were to happen to him, I'd marry the second time for money! ;)

Nope, done it twice now and enough is enough!

LOL, snoopy! Made me think of that Everybody Loves Raymond episode where they picked out a partner for the other :teeth:
