Would you do this?

We have a trip booked for September 10-17. Our flight lands at 12:20 so we should be in the parks by 3:15.

Just for grins I checked the price difference if we flew in on Friday night and it is only about $150.00 difference (staying at AS Sports).

SO, the pros would be to have all day Saturday in the park as opposed to just the afternoon and evening. The con's would be having to leave work mid-afternoon for an evening flight, and the additional costs for the other night. To me, neither of those is a big drawback, and in fact leaving work early would be a plus!

I've not mentioned it to DW yet, and I'm not sure she would want to do it with her work schedule and the need to change a reservation. We've never done that, so I don't know what would be involved, but surely that should not be too difficult!

Would you change or go with what we have?

$150 for one night? No brainer for me. You will get the chance to get in, settled and relaxed, and on the move bright and early the next day.

We always fly in on Friday, so that were ready to go Saturday morning. This way we don't have to worry about a delayed flight and not getting there till late that day. Definitely worth it for us.

Yes go early. Friday night you can settle in, relax, maybe go for a swim. Then up early for a full day in the park on Saturday :dog:

Somehow I had a feeling fellow Diser's would see my view as well. I tried to call DW but she was not in, so I've sent an e-mail to her with the idea. This Friday is my birthday so I suggested this as "my" present. Bet she goes for it too!

We always arrive late afternoon after 7-8 hours travel time from house to airport to MCO to resort. It's so nice to get there, swim, wind down, get a good night's sleep and be able to hit rope drop well rested and ready to go!

Is the $150 just the extra night at the hotel? Or is that including change fees on the airline tickets too? Not trying to be a Debbie Downer and I DEFINITELY would go Friday, but just want to be sure you figured in all the expenses.

I definitely would do it, indeed have done it. It is so nice to get in on Friday night, eat, get to bed early, get a good nights sleep and hit the parks and vacation running the next morning

Yay!!! We moved our date up to Friday and it actually SAVED us money. It was almost 800 cheaper for the flight, we did pay 200 for an extra hotel night...but still....a WHOLE extra 6 hours in the park. SCORE!!!

The possibility of a less expensive flight was initially what got me to consider it. Others had posted on another thread how their arrival dates were planned, so I checked the difference in flight and hotel, and there was no change in the flight, but at only $150.00 in the hotel. To be able to have 6 additional hours in MK on Saturday, resting the night before and not flying down on Saturday, it actually became less expensive than that two tickets to MNSSHP would cost.

Looks like you really prefer doing this, so you should!
Factor in food, additional car rental costs (if applicable), etc.

Always go early to Disney!! We have started going the night before to have a full day in the park or to have some down time from travel and enjoy the resort. Have a great trip!

We found a redeye. Leave Las Vegas at 11 PM, roll into MCO at 6:30 AM. rent a car and straight to AK for RD. Tour AK untl 3, go check in.

Just want to make sure i'm understanding. your thinking of going an extra night early instead of MNSSHP? I love halloween and skipping mnsshp isn't an option for me so I would go with arrive saturday, spend the $150 on something else and enjoy mnsshp..
