I spoke with a young lady the other day whose business it is to accompany families into Disneyland and act as their personal photographer. The name of the business is (I think) Personal Papparazzi. She told me she charges intially for 2 hours, taking you around to popular photo spots (or following you wherever you want to go) and taking pictures of your family. The point being that you dont have to ask someone passing by to take a picture so all of you can be in the shot and someones head isn't cut off either. Then you can buy additional hours if you wish. I think the cost of the photos is covered in the initial cost.

She said she had just started but was getting good feedback. Does that sound like something anyone would do? I thought it sounded kind of neat.

Seems I remember someone posting this kind of question on one of the WDW boards a while back. The consensus seemed to be that there would be a demand for such a service, but that you couldn't do it at WDW because it was against WDW policy (someone may have even tried it before and was told to stop). WDW offers this kind of service themselves though, where I don't think DL does.

DL did have a little battle with a local offering his own non-DL sanctioned tours a while back - he was told to cease and desist (sp?). So I doubt a non-DL personal photog would go over long term if DL ever found it disrupting - someone else performing a service business on their private property (probably a legal eagle would squash it for some legal reasons).

I do think there would be a market for it though. People pay for personal guides. I'm sure they'd pay for professional photographs to capture the memories.

I know there was a post on the photo board about this. How would anyone really know that you are a pro taking photo's unless you posted a big sign on yourself. A tour may be a little different...

I bet if she markets herself as someone to photo family vacations she'd be alright. After all, is it her fault her client chose Disneyland as their vacation spot?

it's a nice perk, if one can afford such luxury! but as for me & my family...i wouldn't. there's always some nice people/person willing to take shots of us. and if you ask nicely, people wouldn't normally turn you down. we're always happy to take pix of other family, if they ask. and if we're just kinda standing around, and see others taking pix, we'd even offer if they wanted to jump in the pix & take their pix for them, etc. that's just my thought... :flower:

Last month I went to DL with my two best friends. Neither had been in 10-15 years. It was my 3rd trip in 8 months. I ended up taking most of the pictures for our group, as well as being the "tour guide". Both said I had to come on vacation with them when they returned with their families. I told them if they paid for my flight I would be happy to.

So, yes, I think people would pay for it. Some people just dont want to be tied down to a camera or video camera while on vacation, but still want pictures. And the $15 a peice disney charges for them adds up quick!

I always had my camera to the DL park photographers and they are more than happy to take our picture. First they take their picture, then use my camera. So I can choose to use the photos on my camera or purchase the parks. :goodvibes
