Would you do this if you were afraid of heights?

Why not? It doesn't look too bad.

I've been on the WTC platform twice (back in the early 80's), also the Empire state building.

I wonder if they have a set of "paddles" up there for all the hearts that will stop! *mine*

It's a tough decision... do I look like a baby on the ground or at the top? :p Either way... I'll definitely look like one.

I figure I have a higher chance of dying on the drive UP there (on that QEW!) than I have if I go up there. I mean, what are the chances that something will happen to the tower while I'M up there???? (Don't answer that!)

Any takers on the meet?

I actually found it scarier to be looking out the floor to ceiling windows near the top of the WTC (1986) than to be actually on the top, outdoors, on the observation deck. The vertigo was worse with the windows than with the fencing around me.

And I love the other poster who commented on the "scary stairs"! I thought I was the only one!! I also remember having that feeling during a tour of the Ford motor plant back in about 1976.... they had us walking on open metal gridwork type catwalk above the production line.... thought my little 12 year old heart would give out!! (Obviously it had a profound effect on me, as I now remember it 28 years later!)...................P:p

During our trip to Toronto last Aug. I had the opportunity, but I chickened out, lol.

DH and DS did it. I now regret that I didn't.

I've stood on the glass floor (an amazing perspective from there) and I've eaten in the restaurant at the top with a window table. It was beautiful.

Like I said, though. I'm not afraid of heights. I don't think anyone in my family is afraid of heights.
