Currently, we have a 3-way split stay coming up in April. I do not want to do the DDP for our entire stay as there's no way we'll eat all that food or spent that much time in restaurants. However, I thought I'd like to book DDP for just the 2nd part of the split that encompasses Friday/Saturday nights. I'm thinking, it might be a good way to try a couple of nicer restaurants/meals that we wouldn't ordinarily do. Can this be done...? :confused3

Where are you staying? For regular resorts, you need to purchase the package. Fot DVC resorts, you can add it onto your reservation.

If you have linked reservations at the same resort, not sure if you could have it on just part of the ressie.

The big problem is you have to purchase park tics to get the DDP. I don't think it would be worth the extra tic for 2 days. You could add the DDP to the first part of your stay. Unless its a DVC stay then you don't need to purchase tics I think.

Ooops...sorry! Yes, this is a DVC stay:

Wed & Thurs: points
Fri & Sat: cash
Sun - Thurs: points

Hence....the 3 reservations, but they are currently linked together.

Thanks!
Sammy

Not positive, but I was told when they are linked they are considered one reservation. If that is the case, then you can't do it. Your best bet is to call member services. We plan to do a combo next summer if they offer the free dining again in August. A package resort stay for 4 nights with DDP, then move into the DVC resort for 5 nights with no DDP. Let us know what MS says. You can also post this on the DVC boards, as folks there may have checked into this already.

We had a linked stay in September, 5 nights pts one night cash. We had the DDP for each night of the linked stay. I think by linking the ressie you make it into one reservation, regardless of how you are paying for it. Which ties into having DDP for eadch night.

Call MS and let us know if they will allow it for only 1 piece of a linked stay.

Well, finally got around to calling MS to ask about the DDP for only part of my linked reservation. And....just as you all thought, because the reservation is linked, I cannot add DDP for just one piece; it has to be added for entire reservation. I could certainly split the ressie back out, but then it greatly increases the chances of having to move rooms. Not worth moving for getting the 2 days of dining in my book!!
