Would you consider us crazy?

We have always visited WDW the weekend before Thanksgiving and we would drive home on Wed. to avoid the holiday crowd. Well, this will be our first visit as DVC members and we have never done MVMCP. I know the first party is Sun. after Thanksgiving but we really don't want to stay the holiday weekend (due to crowds and holiday point usage) so we decided to go back in Dec. for the party. Now, the only good weekend for us to attend is Sun. Dec. 5 which is only 11 days after we return from our Nov. trip!!!! So what do you all think?? Are we crazy for going back so soon for 2 nights (flying in) just to attend MVMCP? I can only imagine what my co-workers are going to say about this!!

How many of you (who don't live near Disney) have ever gone to WDW twice in such a short time period?????? Would I hold the record of 10 days between trips??? (I"ll be leaving WDW on Nov. 24 and going back Dec. 5) I still think we're nuts for doing this but what can I say??? Can't wait to see how many DVCers have me beat!! :teeth:

Our travel dates don’t have the same proximity as yours do, but then again we don’t have the same proximity to WDW as you do…..

With the two trips listed below that will be a total of 5 trips within a 12 month period… Flying 4 of us from Montreal each time (5 of us on one of the trips)……

We were going to add an extra, ‘extra’ trip for the Halloween party, but thought better of it for this year….. Next year?.... Halloween and Christmas I fear…..:<

And YUP…. People do look at us as though we are mumbling to ourselves on the city bus….. Well, we developed an answer for those who say. “What, you’re going again?!”, we just say…. Uuuuuuuhhhhhhh, and smile with glazed over eyes, swaying slightly from side to side….. (may as well give ‘em what they want, that’s what they think of our WDW travel habits anyway)…

No need to justify to anyone…. Go have fun…. Everyone here understands and just wishes they could go with you……….

Would you consider doing your entire trip after Thanksgiving? All the decorations are beautiful and the parks are not crowded. Just a thought since it would save you airfare.

That thought came across my mind but I have Thanksgiving week off. I am a teacher and I'd rather take one or two days off at a time instead of a week. Plus, if we take other family members with us, they won't miss too much school. :)

What is MVMCP? I need a reference guide for all of the abbreviations! Most I have figured out, but that one has me stumped.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

I don't think you're crazy.
Disney for Christmas is BEAUTIFUL!
MVMCP is a must have experience- it actually snows on Main St.!
If your schedule is such that this is the only way to put these trip together, then my suggestion is just GO!

My children are grown and they said they had more fun at the Magic Kingdom during the Christmas party then they did during the day.

I've gone at Christmas for years it's the best time.

Nahh, your not crazi.. at least by our standards.

In 2001, we went for Thanksgiving, and were back just after Christmas.. NYE was just tooo crazy and they closed MGM and MK due to high occupancy. New Years Day was nice though, bit chilly, but nice.

We told everyone that we were returning to witness my daughters wedding, and yeah, that was neat.. but we made sure we got to see the mouse too!

Maybe, but who cares? I'd do it in a minute if I ever get the chance. MVMCP is a blast!

Why tell 'em? Just put off showing them any pictures until you are back from the MVMCP weekend. If you have to talk about it, tell us! We get it!!!

Best wishes -

Would "we" consider you crazy?

Ha Ha that was funny, you really picked the wrong boards to make that statement on, I would guess that just about every DVC member would do it in a second, MVMCP is great, we all enjoy it very much, we have tickets for Nov 30 and Dec 5, We are from NE Ohio and Nov 29th will be our 4th trip in a year and we also fly, myself, DW,DS, DD. and we already booked for April

You will really like the VWL it's really special at X-mas

Fill us in when you return

That's Mickey's Very Merry Xmas Party.
It's a special party at the Magic Kingdom, after regular hours. You to buy a less expensive ticket, and of course there will be fewer people there. I know this because I wanted to take the family into the park, but the last Party night close to our visit ends the night before we get there. Bummer!:(

Have you thought of maybe going down to the beach for a few days and then back to WDW for the first party? Just a thought to try and save you some airfare. Either way, have a nice time.:D

certifiable! LOL

I think I hold the record, but Im sure someone has us both beat! I went to Member Homecoming in May for 5 nights left on Friday and returned the following Friday for our 10 night family trip.

Add in my 7 night trip to participate in a wedding next week and taking my Ds's back in December for MVMCP.

30 nights in the World in 2004! That's CRAZY! LOL

Have a great trip with your CRAZY self!

Lifebabe...it must be something in the Dallas/Ft. Worth water....we made it to WDW 7 times last year for a total of 36 days. Our count this year will be only 20, but that includes a trip per month for October, November, and December!

We did a trip with the kids which we got home from on a Thursday, the kids went to camp for a week on Sunday and my Wife and I flew out for an adults trip to WDW for the week with friends after dropping them off at camp. So...I think we're in that crazy club.

When people we know ask us how we can go to Disney so much (we'll do 4 times in a 12 month period that started this past June) we tell them "I smile when I'm planning the trip, I smile anticipating the trip, I smile when we're there and I smile thinking about the trip when we get home". If that isn't what life is all about, what is?
