Would you cancel AK FP+ to get A&E FP+

I have a dilemma, The only days of our trip that has A&E FP available are the day we have morning plans for AK. We're going in mid Sept. for DD 5th Birthday. She, of course is the only one who wants to meet A&E. Are those FP worth canceling our AK FP and going stand by? Other things to consider: are A&E part of EMH and MNSSHP, and would it be better to just try to catch them at those times?

I would cancel the FP for A&E. We did AK half day in the morning with no FP and it worked very well with very little wait time. Even with the FP we waited at least 15 minutes for A& E and I sure wouldn't wait for any longer than that. The two we met were not all that magical. Too many people and very little interaction. It was like come in, sign the book, smile and next. Merida, on the other hand, was great.

You won't need FP+s at AK in September, so if A&E are that important to you, then it's definitely worth giving up AK FP+s for.

That being said, I agree with the poster above who said the A&E interaction can be less than magical. I'm glad my kids have a BTDT attitude about them because it sucks to expend a FP+ for them and then feel like you're rushed out the door.

I echo the previous posters...you will not need AK Fastpasses to get all your business done there. If A&E is a priority, do hang on to those, I barely got some myself by the skin of my teeth..the very last night I'm there...whew!

Thanks for the advice. For the moment I'm going to grab the A&E FP before they are gone. If I change my mind, it will be much easier to reschedule AK than getting A&E! If this were not DD's first trip, and her birthday trip, I probably wouldn't do that for her. however, she is the age where all things Frozen rule, and since I refuse to stand in any line for over an hour just to meet a character (did that for Mickey in pre FP- days) for now this seems like the best solution.

Hopefully the AK lines won't be too bad, especially since we aren't really thrill ride people!

I agree with the others, A&E standby will take forever, so grab them if you see they are available.

This exactly. I know you've said you've gotten them for the time being, but since you've said that this trip is specifically to celebrate your daughter's birthday and that she wants to meet them, I would definitely keep them. If it was just a regular non-celebrating trip I *might* say otherwise, but since it's specifically to celebrate her, I'd make sure to do this thing SHE wants.

We have an AK morning/MK evening, and I did exactly what others are suggesting. I got MK FP+s (including A&E). We are going in late August and have really never needed FP+s when we go first thing in the morning.

No FPs are needed for AK. I would make afternoon FPs for A&E and 7DMT at MK. Have a great trip!!!

Mickey and Minnie at AK can be a long wait because they do a lot of interacting with each guest, so I echo everyone else that you should do the A&E fastpasses at MK, but to avoid a long wait if you want to meet M&M at AK I would go there first thing in the morning or do a meal at Tusker House so you can meet them during the meal!

It depends on how "MUST DO" is A&E for DD. We can get through AK in half a day without FPs and still not have a too terrible of a time with waits. Not even for Mickey&Minnie, but we look at the wait times and if they seem too long, we go get through the other stuff and come back. I would get the A&E FP and other MK FPs for the day, but I would try to schedule them later in the day to allow time for AK and transportation to MK.

We have Chef Mickey's booked for our first night, so we'll get the classic character meets our of the way. Both my kids met Mickey and Minnie on the cruise ships also, so they will not be a priority for us at AK. We already had FP+ for 3 other days at MK, so we were pretty well covered! I went with a A&E FP that starts at 3:20 to give us plenty of time at AK and decided to FP a viewing spot for the parade as well since it will be our only evening at MK (except MNSSHP) and that will prevent us from having to stake out a spot too far in advance. Perhaps it all worked out for the best in the end!

Agree with the posters who said you won't need FP plus at AK in the morning.
