DH has promised me a recliner.

Yet... he won't get off his keester and go with me to get one. :confused3

Tonight I was out with a friend and we decided to go searching and I picked one out. His phone was dead, so I couldn't get ahold of him.

I didn't buy it, but I was tempted. I'd rather him be there because he drives a truck and that way I can take it home that day. ;)

Would you have bought it? Knowing DH said you could get one?
My friend was shocked I was okay with buying it without him there. :rotfl:

Definitely.. When I bought our new living room furniture my late DH had no interest in being present at all.. Ditto for his recliner.. Of course I discussed the purchase price with him, but other than that his attitude was, "Pick out whatever you like and I'm sure it will be fine.." :)

Of course. I decorate the house not him. I know the kind of stuff we both like and don't like and I know our price range. He wouldn't mind at all.

Yes, I wouldn't think twice and yes, I've done it before. I know what our entire financial picture is - when we can afford it and when we have to hold back. My taste is better in that regard, anyway.;)

I buy what I want when I want. So, yes, I would (and have) bought furniture without my husband.

I do get the whole wanting him to bring it home in his truck - it's so much better than having to wait for a delivery. :)

Hi Neighbor:wave2: Yup, I'd do it in a heart beat with no repercussions from DH;) But I've got 16 yrs of training invested in him:lmao: he gives me crap about nothing LOL!

Yes, I've done it.

Back when Disneyshopping.com had the Mickey coffee tables & end tables, I ordered one of each, right on the spot!

Yes, he usually finds out about it when the deliverary truck shows up.

yes, I've done it, and I don't feel the need to discuss price either.

I have. He hates shoppping and (not counting me) his taste kind of sucks.

If I already had his ok on the purchase overall like you did then sure I would. Dh and I always discuss larger purchases like that before making them so I wouldn't consider spending that much money without running it past him first. (And I'd be pretty upset if he bought something like that without discussing it with me first too!)
But I pick all our furniture pretty much by myself (dh doesn't like to shop for anything and he couldn't care less what color/style furniture we have) so I wouldn't think twice if I already had his ok to buy a recliner.

I've done it many times. If I waited for DH to go furniture shopping with me, we would be sitting on milk cartons by now.

We generally have made the decision to buy whatever it is beforehand.

I said no before reading your post, however

I would purchase it without him present but I wouldn't purchase it without him knowing about it. Any large monetary spending is discussed before hand but I usually am the one who picks out the items and purchases them with or without him there.

Would and have. I wouldn't buy a house without him, but that's about it. :lmao:

no, but i probably wouldn't go out shopping with out him anyway. I don't even like to go clothes shopping w/o him.

I absolutely would buy it without him. I don't need his help decorating, just with the heavy lifting. :goodvibes

no, wouldn't buy furniture without DH - and certainly wouldn't want DH to buy any more furniture without me! (because most of what we have is glass with stone, and it's awful - he'd bought it before meeting me...)

I voted yes.. seems that was the one to vote..

My husband never wanted in on any of the decorating...so it was all me. As long as I get him one comfortable chair, just for him, he is happy. I did that and worked the family room about that chair.

No way would I have done it. Having a husband say sure you can and yet he didn't know you were out shopping isn't good enough for me. I would need to tell him before I left for me to do something like that. We both act that way with each other with anything major. It helps us keep spending in check.
