With the announcement of the new construction at the GF and of course the fact that every construction project at a hotel can potentially be a DVC resort - what do you think?

With BLT selling out soon, I think the probability is high. As for buying, I don't think so. Would love to stay there, but if I buy anything, it will be BCV, SSR or Poly (if it is ever announced). I know lots of people will be over the moon, though! :yay:

Nope. I can think of at least 4 other DVC resorts I'd prefer to stay/own at.

Technically there has been no announcement yet. Plans have leaked online, but nothing is official yet.

I did talk to my guide when the rumors exploded.

He said the only thing he's heard is the rumors running around the net (just like us).

I don't think I would buy there, because I think the points are going to be costly. I would stay just to say I did.

I would probably stay there, but would not buy there. I'd prefer a Poly DVC much, much, much more, but probably wouldn't buy there, either. First, I just added on and feel we have the points to meet our needs right now. Second, buying direct from Disney is just too much money for me. And, finally, I thought when they announced BLT that I would be the first on the phone to purchase. When running the numbers and especially looking at the resort, it just didn't work out for me. So, I happily own at BCV and SSR.

The price per point should theoretically remain the same between resorts... The real premium will be evident on the rate sheet.... I'd getting scared just thinking about it! :scared1:

We own at BLT and would definitely purchase 50 or 75 points at the GF, if it in fact becomes DVC. My boyfriend has already been forewarned!

If I could afford DVC at all, I'd probably buy at AKV/SSR/BCV, but maybe not. But if we could afford DVC, then I would definitely stay at the GF!

I would be very conflicted over this one. I love the exterior of the hotel. I love that it's on Seven Seas Lagoon. I love that it's on the monorail. I really do not like the decor of the rooms. Now, if they reconsidered what that looked like and made it look a little more upscale looking and made it more comfortable, I'd be in. It will be interesting to see what happens.

For once we aren't tempted to buy and add on:cool1: Stayed at GF some years ago and didn't care for it. The monorail is going to be overwhelmed, the point charts will likely be outrageous. Nope no temptation at all. While I really wish DVC would cool its jets with new resorts I won't mind the slack the 7 mos window will likely get at some other places from people wanting to stay the "flagship" GF :rolleyes1

Nope. I think GF is lovely, but I've never been crazy about staying in a MK resort. I've always felt isolated and somewhat confined there for some reason.

There's an article in the Orlando Sentinel on Wednesday: Disney Planning Addition - it doesn't specify DVC.

Good point about the monorail - I didn't think of that. i really wanted to do an add-on at BLT, but couldn't justify the point cost, since I haven't had a raise since 2008. I would love an add-on at an MK resort, but with buying a house this week, I don't see it happening...
