Would you buy A Grand Floridian DVC Membership?

GF is my favorite Disney Hotel, so yes I would consider purchasing there.

Yes...I plan on contacting my guide soon to tell him if the new project does become DVC, to put me on his short list of names to call. I would subsequently dump my BLT points if/when that happens. Nothing against BLT, I just prefer the GF.

:thumbsup2

I would seriously consider it but would need to know more about theming, amenities, etc.

This is a big no for me. While the resort looks nice from the outside and has a great lobby it really is not my cup of tea. Now the Poly on the other hand might make me think about it.

No, we most likely would not, as we don't find the GF to be particularly impressive, but I'd never say never, as things can change. I never thought we'd own a timeshare at all, much less the 500 points we now own with DVC, but at this time there are too many other places around the world for us to travel and honestly, I feel we already have more points than we need, so buying them at a resort we don't care for is not likely in the cards.

I do think a DVC at the GF would be extremely popular, however, as it does have a very loyal following and that seems to be a key to brisk sales.

No real appeal for me. The BWV and VGC points I have are enough for me and if I had to purchase my points all over again, I don't think GF is where I would be looking.

It would depend on a few things for me. Ease of transportation, size of the villas, room occupancy, perks such as concierge, a fun pool like kidani has maybe :confused3

Same, no appeal to stay at grandmas house if she's not going to be there.

:rotfl2: I've heard that statement before.
Years ago I was on the board of directors of an industry organization and we held a fall meeting at the GF to check out the hotel for our annual conference. All the men thought it was too "grandma house" looking and the annual conference ended up being held somewhere off site in Orlando.

That was the only time I've stayed at the GF, to me it's Disney's version of Victorian. The Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island is the real thing, elegant without trying to hard.

I wish my Granny lived at the Grand Floridian and I could visit her everyday. :thumbsup2

I don't think that I would buy there (but if money was not a issue I would) because the points may cost more to buy than at the other DVC resorts. However, I would definately want to stay there because of the access to the monorail.
