Would you bring a 13 year old to a Kiss concert?

I would see what you can find out on-line about the content of the show. The only reason I say this is because I recently went to a Motley Crue concert. Porno was flashing on the big screens throughout the concert. While it was flashing really fast so you couldn't really see anything, it was evident that it was porn. While I didn't have an issue with my kids seeing it (they're much older than yours), I don't know if I would have wanted a 13 y.o. to see it (women were bound & gagged - I'm sure you get the idea).

I know what youre talking about, but I've never seen Kiss do anything like this at all. Not to say things could change, but I've seen them about 6 or 7 times, never seen any porn with Kiss. Just a little language and lots of volume.

I'd definitely take him! I think live music performances are great for kids. My DH took his 12 year old DD to Alice Cooper and she loved it. By that age, they know it's a show and for fun.

I would guess that Gene Simmon's daughter went to her share even before 13 and he is pretty protective of her!

No, I say take him. I took my oldest to an Aerosmith concert when he was 5, he bugged us for months about going I finally relented and said yes. I did put the head phones on him that we take to tractor pulls. He was fine and loved it. But we have been going to hockey games since before he was born so he was used to loud noises and that darn horn above our heads.

I probably would yes, but you need to be aware that there will be cussing, sex talk, pot will smoked and people will be drinking. I went to see Nickelback not too long ago (took my BFF and her Mom) and there were loads of people smoking, drinking and Chad was not shy with the sex references, he even had a conversation with a 13 y.o that was there, his Mom was there but she was in the back, this kid was right in front. So, as long as you know what goes on at a rock concert and you still want to take him then do it! I take my girls to concerts all the time, have since DD9 was 6, mostly country but those still get just as crazy as rock concerts. :)

Sure. What a fun experience for him :)

if he likes crappy music...with such thoughtful lyrics such as "I'm, gonna rock and roll all night, and party every day" sung over and over and over to three chords...sure, take him

Lyrics don't have to be meaningful to be fun! :dance3:

I for sure would take them. Bad language is everywhere including all schools so I'm sure they heard it all before. Music was a big part of my life growing up and I have seen KISS a couple times. I have never seen any kind of porn at a concert. A little nudity once when a couple ladies lifted their shirts. I don't know if that was at a KISS concert or not. Many KISS fans are getting older so that might not be a big concern anymore.

He'll be 3 weeks from his 13th birthday. Do you think that's too young for a Kiss concert? He loves classic rock and live music, so I know he'd love it.

DH and I are probably too old, so that should balance it out, right? :rotfl:

LOVE KISS!! Take him and enjoy!! They put on a great show. I can't wait for my DD5 to get old enough so I can take her to the bands she likes. Alice Cooper and Aerosmith. I love concerts. Buying tickets tomorrow for Hall and Oates last time at the PHilly Spectrum.

:rolleyes1
Kiss was my first concert. I was 4. Yep you read that right, 4. :rolleyes1
I went with my aunts, uncles, and cousins. I still remember it and it was awesome!:cool1:

I have to agree with you about the Crue. Of course they are my favorite band so I would still go (but wouldn't take the kids!).:cutie:

Blasphemy!!

I was 12 when they first came out. I wanted to go then, but was not allowed. Teaching him a little bit of classic rock is never a bad thing. :woohoo:

I've been to see Kiss and Nickelback, and I have a 13 year old. I'm planning to buy tickets tomorrow to take him to see Kiss next month. I would definitely not take him to Nickelback! I really enjoyed them, but the language between songs was a bit more than I want to expose him to at this point. (Yes, I know he probably hears worse at school, but not with me sitting next to him!:rotfl:) I don't remember anything particulary offensive about the last Kiss concert I went to.

I would! :thumbsup2
Brittany Spears is another story.

I would take my 13 y.o.:cool1: It's a classic rock band that won't be around forever---think of it as a "cultural bonding experience";)
